People need to get their geography correct. “Indiana” is a misnomer, a calculated feint designed to trick businesses into coming there. The proper designation is Northern Kentucky.
MIke Pence, Trey Gowdy , Donnie’s stable of attorneys are e good reasons why lawyers are working… TeaPubs will take credit for ‘job’ creation.
Wow 19 refugees for the entire state!!!1!!11!
Canada is taking in 25,000 refugees this year and 1,500 arrive in my city next week.
Canadians aren’t bed-wetting idiotic cowards like America’s rightwingnuts, though. Obviously.
Anybody know how this funding works? It seems too bad that each state is given funding from the feds for resettlement when there are other states without such unconstitutional inclinations who would welcome the refugees and spend those unused federal dollars on such a worthwhile cause. (Okay, in the urban areas here in Missouri…can’t answer for rural-ville. But the Bosnians we took in settled in and we even attracted “resettled” Bosnians from other areas of the country…would expect the same from any refugee group. And we have a mosque now just blocks away…)
The proper name around here is Kentuckiana.
Having lived in Connecticut and Indiana, I’d have to say the family is better off in the Nutmeg State. Indiana has particularly strong history of xenophobia and you always know (much to your relief) when you’ve crossed a boundary into another state. It’s a shame ACLU didn’t use this as an opportunity to mention the laborious screening process for refugees, but it’s interesting that funding provides the wedge for initiating a suit. I wonder if other states will try to comepensate when they do this sort of thing as a fig leaf.
