Discussion: In Tweets, Trump Fixates On James Comey, Mentions Syria Strikes And Cohen

It’s his way of “responding” and “defending” himself, as nothing can ever be his fault. He’s got to vent and who better than the entire U.S. population? He’s a victim, remember?

He certainly watches the numbers grow at the bottom of each tweet - and for a second he feels loved. Not a big enough response = a soon to follow crazier one for the base. Unless he knocks a tweet off before teeing off - then its a single tweet.

Even many of his supporters think that he tweets too much. It’s not for any of us, either right, left, or center. It’s for him. Because he can.

What did he do before twitter?

I think maybe he’s trying to provide content for the future Donald J Trump Presidential Library.

Trump is acting very guilty. He is coming unhinged as he realizes he’s being caught and that the quid pro quo he had negotiated for being a soviet-era puppet are in jeopardy. I am thinking that he personally spoke to Putin multiple times and gave away military secrets to Russian intelligence.

Right now the smartest-money opinion writers are saying this is the beginning of the end. Not these tweets, of course, but the way things are trending. Legally, politically, and in public opinion, he’s locked into a downward slide. And every cog in that twisted psyche will creak and strain to make it worse. Sad. And I’m not trying to be snarky there. It’s just sad, the whole thing.

Incredibly, the news media (well, I listen to NPR) just reports on this deranged gibberish as if it were any presidential statement, like, from a sane man who took his governing responsibilities seriously. Talk about “defining deviancy down.” The US will not recover from that last presidential election. It just won’t.

Complain to Richard Branson:

I met Trump in the 1990s, and all he talked about was destroying people
who wouldn’t help one of his bankrupt businesses

The billionaire Virgin Group founder says the
meeting was focused on the fallout from the bankruptcy of one of
Trump’s companies.“I thought we would have an interesting conversation about a whole range of issues,” says Branson.

Comey the worst FBI Director? I wonder how Trump would have felt with J. Edgar Hoover as FBI Director. How many of Trump’s secrets would Hoover know? He’s certainly know about what happened in that Moscow hotel room.

I wouldn’t predict that. Germany was in pretty bad shape at the end of WWII.

Sure. But somehow, according to 538, the idiot’s popularity remains above 40% AND IS INCREASING. Like I said, the US will not recover from this one. We never recovered from “9-11”, either.

I wonder what Trump would think about J Edgar Hoover informing LBJ in 1964 that Barry Goldwater had fathered a secret love child in Texas?

If by that, you mean that our political institutions and system will never be the same again, you’re correct.
