“The sexual revolution has led to exploitation of women on a scale that we would never have imagined,” Hawley told a group of pastors, according to audio obtained by The Star. In another recent speech, Hawley said the 1960s ushered in a denigration of “the biblical teaching about the sanctity of marriage … the appropriate place for sexual practice and expression within the family, within marriage, and we’re living now with the terrible after-effects of this so-called revolution.”
Anyone care to speculate whether he owns a wetsuit?
when a republican candidate obsesses about sex in that kind of language, there’s almost always something kinky to be revealed
“My loyalties as a U.S. senator would be first and foremost to the people of Missouri and their needs.
I thought he would have said that his loyalties are (as a United States Senator) to the constitution. I don’t think the senate oath mentions being loyal to the state … I could be wrong.
I hope all these GOPers ride Trump to the bottom of the ocean like the immoral anchor he is.
I hope I’m wrong, but I fear that Missouri will further its reputation for ignorance, prejudice and crystal meth leadership by voting Hawley in.
Not like there is any high profile GOP office holders in Missouri whose behaviors confirm that sentiment. ~cough~
Sad. Missouri used to be a bellwether swing state, and now is a clear GOP lock in presidential elections. It’s clearly full of morons if they are still clinging to Trump.
Sadly can confirm. Drove through Missouri last week and saw more Trump/Pence signs than any state should have after the record breaking failures of this “administration.”
Not if you went to Catholic schools, and Jesuit ones at that.
Greitens is just your average alpha make prick that didn’t go to Catholic schools because, well Jewish parents and up bringing.
What isn’t being mentioned here is that Hawley ran for AG as an outsider, didn’t want to be a “career politician”, and yet here he is running for another office without actually finishing the job he wanted to do in the office he was elected too, and for God’s sake Ed Martin is an asshole, he latched on Phyllis Schlafly’s conservative grift and now has to make himself relative because she’s gone and Phyllis’ kids don’t like him.
Not just the bottom of the ocean, but specifically the Mariana Trench.
Sounds like a hot mess of a primary.
May they be as nasty as to each other in their primary as Trump was to his opponents in his primary. Leave the emergent candidate with some muck sticking to him.
Trump’s favorability hovers around 50% in Missouri, and his unfavorables are pretty close to his favorables in what polling there has been done in the last six months. McCaskill is vulnerable, but Hawley will have a hard time winning in wave year. Incumbents of the wave party usually need a scandal to be defeated in such years.
Hawley happens to be the sanest of the candidates running. We’ve got a libertarian in Austin Petersen, Courtland Sykes man of mystery and Mad Men wannabe, and then two other smallest fry you’ve never ever heard of outside their families.
Hey, not all of us are imbeciles.
not sure to make of what you’ve just said, since I attended catholic schools, including a jesuit one
Hawely is from the KC side of MO, but he’d fit right in St. Louis’ very conservative Catholic thinking. He’s not going to have a kinky side, he’s a pious a-hole. Statements and interviews I’ve read is that diversity of opinion or thought is not welcome in his world.
Which to all of that makes his Trump tight rope walking very interesting. How far will he debase himself to garner the Trumpies here in MO?
