Actually, this IS part of the worldview he is trying to force upon the world. He is actively encouraging regional powers to ignore the world and implement their own solutions. Its a tearing down of multilaterism combined with a purposeful disengagement of the US from the international stage.
The problem of course, and this region is the perfect example, is things can and probably will quickly escalate into hot wars. And a war there will almost assuredly evolve very quickly into a Islamic religious war that would rapidly spread through out the region, if not the world.
None of which is going to make America great.
