Itās painfully obvious that 45% of the nationās citizens are going to dictate how the remaining 55% live for generations to come. Gerrymandering assures that. The GOP is going to control redistricting after the 2020 census. Trump is going to cement a conservative majority in SCOTUS that will outlive most of us. The minority has permanently subjugated the majority.
This is how the fascist GOP plays, fast, loose, undemocratically and in a last minute stealth action. Now, Obama, how about that Garland SCOTUS appointment.

Weāve seen this before after the Reconstruction period, a vicious, violent backlash called the Redemption. It left the South backwards to this day. Now theyāre taking their show on the road, trying to make it national. This would be best avoided if possible.

At some point, the Democrats/Progressives are going to have to consider how activist-even violent-they are willing to become to stop this bastardization of Democracy.
I am opposed to violence. I note that Martin Luther King and Gandhi accomplished great things without promoting violence. Moral authority is key. I am not opposed to organizing a genuine revolution starting with the media. We need to take a page from the Trump playbook and assert ourselves on social media.

And these assholes, who came to power because Democrats couldnāt be bothered to vote in 2010, have bunkered themselves into gerrymandered districts that three elections have proven invulnerable to outrage.
They really havenāt run into any limit on their ability to do shit like this other than the reins held by mostly out of state oligarchs.
