the first U.S. president to visit the site of the world’s first atomic bomb attack

I did not know this. Mr. President, I will miss you so much. I keep saying that.

Waste of time. They brought it on themselves, and they had it coming!

I am so pissed. I set the alarm for 3 AM this morning to watch and it wasn’t on, Rachel Maddow said it would be 3AM Wst Coast time. I guess I have to watch on C-span

I know. Makes me sick that he cant President forever, Can you imagine European Leaders musrt be scared after dealing with such a responsible smart president and the prospects of dealing with Trump. Obama was asked that question yesterday and he said the leaders are very conerned I have a feeling once the Pres gets on rhe campaign trail he will be making that point as one of the reasons Trump can’t see the inside of the white houaw

And heads on the Right explode, right on cue, as they falsely claim; there goes Obama apologizing for America again.

I know, it’s either apologizing or damnation with them. Pres Obama has walked that fine line with such grace and dignity, I could never figure out why his diplomacy has been so reviled.

This x1000. I can’t even imagine what other world leaders must really be thinking.

If you want to see the level of hate against this President, read some of the comments at the NYTimes coverage

I know they genuinely hate him but I believe most of it is driven by jealously because he is making history and being the “first” to do so many things and a lot of them understand that the man they hate so much will go down as one of the best Presidents ever

What a contrast this is: A contrast of a reasoned, intelligent man and exceptionally accomplished leader like President Obama and the Trumpanzee’ ___ a stupid howler monkey who thinks the world would be safer with more nuclear-armed countries and the proliferation of nuclear weapons:

#Don’t worry about global warming.
#Donny will give you nuclear winter!

I went online on the 60th anniversary of the bombing and visited the Hiroshima website. It was a very horrifying, sad and poignant experience. Read the stories of parents who went looking for children at the schools, the horror if they found them, and of those that initially survived, the futile efforts to save them. The pictures and scraps of possessions and clothes…

Death and destruction and human suffering on such a large scale that is almost too much to take in. Never again.

And yes, the smaller scale instances of that must stop, too.

I was at the Hiroshima Peace Museum yesterday, and I have to say, it’s a very sobering place. You can’t see the tattered clothes, the melted tricycle, and read about what people endured without being affected.

I kept thinking to myself I wish Trump would go. Maybe he’d think twice about talking loosely regarding the usage of nuclear weapons.

And my other thought was how unfit he is to be anyone’s President.

This photo was very touching and the story tells us what we need to know about why no apology is needed. Our president always graceful is the consoler in chief and the mourner in chief.

His remarks later about about why the presumptive R nominee is a threat were also appropriate and people in this country should be alarmed as well.

The unfair, undeserved public opinion of him was shaped early on by the man who’s going to run for president. I’m looking forward to the day when we see the president campaigning for Clinton and speaking on her behalf and there will be no holds barred as to what he says about her opponent.

A very important part of being a responsible human being is to be willing to apologize when you harm someone by your misdeeds or mistakes. Obama is subtly demonstrating that this applies to nations, as well as humans.

I looked, and all I see is a great man, a very compassionate and intelligent man, a man whose skin color is darker than mine…oops.
