Hey, I have a very simple analogy which I have been using to explain Trump to people. Mostly I’m using it with the locals who obviously don’t know much about US politics, but it works at home too.
Trump is obviously a fantastic salesman—unbelievably compelling (unfortunately). What I say is that Trump is like a car salesman who doesn’t even know anything about cars.
Maybe this is too simplistic for you guys, but I find it apt, and it get the point across.
I hope they asked him what he was going to do about the feeling of entitlement his win has given to racists and misogynists. but it is probably a suck uppy interview.
He basically said his fomenting hate wasn’t taking things too far because he won.
Now wait a sec… what happened to “nasty?”
While Priebus has the inside track for chief of staff some in TrUmps circle are pushing for Bannon.

He won because their lives aren’t perfect and they’re looking for someone to blame. He gave them people to blame (women and brown people) and then he promised to wave his hand and fix it.

The NDAA needs to pass by the end of the year to set funding levels for the military, but extreme lawmakers tacked on what’s called the Russell Amendment (…in the dead of night, with no debate).
This amendment would roll back anti-discrimination protections for women, LGBTQ people, and religious minorities. Trump’s victory has pro-discrimination lawmakers thinking they can win this fight even if it means leaving the military without a budget.
Going to be a fun four years.
I would prefer to see Trump put more crazies openly in charge, since they will be calling the shots behind the scenes anyway

I’m pretty sure that I have no f’ing idea what HO really believes or thinks at any given time. So far I have not seen or heard one damn thing from him that has not changed when it’s convenient for him.

WaPo has an article about Trump and his advisors already walking back a host of his campaign promises.
Lock her up? “It’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought,"
Build that wall? "He may not spend very much time trying to get Mexico to pay for it, but it was a great campaign device,”
Deport them all? “The number could range from 1 million to 6 million”
Tariff on Chinese goods? “He’s been misquoted"
Ripping up the Iran treaty? “ ‘Ripping up’ is maybe a too strong of word. He’s gonna take that agreement, it’s been done before in international context, and then review it,”
Ban all Muslims? “Trump appeared to hear the question before thanking everybody and walking away.”
So now he’s going to walk back all the divisive rhetoric that got him elected and were supposed to say its Ok we always knew you werent the DB you were on the campaign? I dont think so…

I at least take solace in the fact that he’s going to be miserable and that his cabinet taking credit is going to piss him off
