Gag on it, Chellie

That sound you are hearing is the tolling of the bell for the republican party’s future presidential hopes.

I was reading a few things this weekend, bemoaning how the DNC is slow to get into gear this year compared to the RNC. And in this particular subject I fully agree. We missed a huge opportunity but not making a stronger, more public push to get immigration reform passed. Force the republicans to talk more and more about it. Yes it kills actual immigration reform, but it was already dead as soon as it left the Senate anyway. We could have those numbers up into the 40s if we are pushed hard.

And once the issue reached those levels in the base, it takes years to get them down off that ledge. Locking the GOP into abysmal 20% and less numbers with the Hispanic bloc for a very long time.

These polls tell me that most people think the economy is in pretty good shape. That’s good news.

And it shows how all the GOP caterwauling about the deficit is a sham - for something that is supposed to be a huge crisis that is going to turn us into Greece, only 7% are concerned about it.

Now that Obamacare has turned out to be working and not the disaster that Republicans hoped for, they’re looking elsewhere to fuel the outrage that makes their lives worth living. Issues tinged with racial resentment like immigration are always available sources of outrage.

What happened to Benghazi?

For the Republicans, the poll was worded “Which of the following is the biggest distraction from Benghazi?”

It was exposed for the complete load of Fox News fake outrage horses__t of a conspiracy theory that it was. Even Republicans stopped being dumb enough to believe it so they moved on.

Oh now, let’s not go ahead and give them too much credit.

GOP voter concerned issues are easily explained in 1 Fox News cycle where 22% of the reporting is freaking out about border security, 8% on ethical/moral issues, etc

The only question that needs to be answered in a Republican poll is what produces the most fear and terror.

I think you nailed it. I’d suspect a strong correlation between that Republican list and whatever Fox News and Rush were whining about the prior day.

This is because that’s what Fox News is flogging. Just like in 2010, all of their programming is dedicated to the border “crisis”, with constant loops of people crossing the border. Conservatives are just really good at controlling where the oxygen goes in terms of news coverage.

Don’t forget xenophobia.

Well, it looks like the Party event planners have finally settled on a theme for Hate Week 2014. It’s a shame all that money and effort devoted to a Hate Week based on the ACA, which, of course, now never happened, had to be sent down the memory hole, but thank BB they didn’t have to change/not change the theme right in the middle of the festivities.

FWIW?
Since ®s are always wrong?
About nearly everydamnthing?

Why would a poll on what they’re wrong about today-- be any more informative than the last one?

Rethug disaster mongering a disaster…
Any wonder, blaming “the coloreds”, a classic of the inept and ignorant, shifts from dog whistle to drum?

Let’s call it a GOTP disaster if 2014 isn’t a disaster for the Democrats.
