Yup. We’re past “never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence” . You can only be this incompetent on purpose. There are three kids in this suit. It’s not even a class action. If it were just a CYA action, why not reunite these three to show the other judge (who does have a class action before him) that you are doing your best.
The haven’t returned a single kid. That’s not incompetence that’s malice aforethought.
And in another court room, the government does not know where some of the parents are. And yet ICE is supposedly tracking undocumented immigrants.

And it’s not like they want to keep these children in the US. They don’t, obviously. So what is the point? Just to screw people over as much as possible? Or they just can’t be bothered to care or think about the entirely predictable results of their actions?

It is impossible to wrap one’s head around what is happening. The same folks who were freaked out about what restroom a transgender person used are seemingly okay with young children being housed in facilities where no one knows who is sharing a room with the kids. Now, dog sitting responsibilities are deemed more important than parents knowing where their children have been taken. There is no normal sense of priority or urgency left. My representatives are Democrats who are fighting this, so I don’t need to call them daily. Right now, I’m going to go make another donation to the ACLU.
I think (perhaps wrongly) that the dogsitting thing is about giving the trump administration enough rope. It’s a delay in the status meeting, not a delay on the deadline itself. And “I need more time to obey the law because I was dogsitting instead of working on obeying the law” doesn’t fly so well.
There needs to be more attention paid to this and less to playboy bunny’s lawsuit. and less to Mike Pence’s defense of ICE. One thing for sure is that I am glad I missed this piece on PBS last night. This is abuse and neglect. I need a dose of the gentle and kind Fred Rogers and expect to see the documentary this weekend. Both my kids watched his show. I would often sit with them and take in his acceptance and respect for all children.
Do you think that the number of lawsuits involving Trump in his first two/three years be greater than or lesser than the number of lawsuits involving Trump pre-Presidency? I hope someone is keeping track of this vital piece of information.
Well if children and parents are being kept separated 24/7 for weeks and months then HHS/DHS personal should be working 24/7 with no time off for holidays and family time.

My sons watched Mr. Rogers as well. It’s indicative of their basic goodness that kids of all socioeconomic backgrounds could relate to his message of acceptance. Would that message still resonate in the era of Trump? If even 10% of the population is willing to condone what is happening to these families, then I really wonder . . . .
