Discussion: 'I'm Back': Scalise Returns To Capitol For First Time Since Shooting

And probably more the latter than the former.

In other words, all the things he wants to deny to everyone else in the country. (And even in a sense to himself – there aren’t anywhere near enough assassination attempts on congresspeople and other rich folk to support the trauma and EMT infrastructure we have .)

Yeah the former just frees him up since it’s kind of now or never!

Actually, it only reinforces their belief in the God.

If you survive a calamity, that means your God loved you, and the other people were evil sinners anyways and you’re a good guy. So their answer really is that they are better than everyone else, but they can’t say that out loud without coming across as the douchebags they are.

So glad that the doctors were able to help him. I wonder how he feels about gun control now?

Great to have him back…perhaps now he can reflect on the fact that thousands of innocent victims will die because of the current Congressional indifference to gun violence in America. This can be addresses by people like Scalise who have discretion in addressing gun show loopholes, magazine size, background checks etc…but , they wont.Who’ll be the next in line to take a bullet for the NRA?

His return followed ā€œmore than three months in the hospital and an in-patient rehabilitation facilityā€.

Which would’ve utterly bankrupted anyone without health insurance.

(Had they even been admitted to a rehabilitation facility without an insurance card.)

Where the help, no doubt, was paid shockingly-low wages by its lavishly-compensated corporate owners.

For whom Scalise is about to whip an obscene tax cut.

Funded by raising the rate for all those suckers at the bottom.

The GOP definition of American Exceptionalism.

Yeah but everyone has some god and some bad, so that’s where it gets humorous sort of. They talk about how kind god saved them from something but won’t say why so called god put them in that situation in the first place when they are such a good person.

It’s a pretty tangled web they have to weave, if you know what I mean!

Fits rigt in with all the bull shit republiacn’s claim about what they want to do and then when you ask for detailed explanations or point out flaws they start ignoring the question, or fainting needing to look at it some more or they just don’t have time to explain it if you can’t seem to understand.

Are bullet holes considered to be a ā€˜pre-existing’ condition ?

I’m glad healing and rehab went well. I don’t begrudge that one instance. I would, however, like to have the financials of his hospitalization and rehab revealed and discussed. Given the continual debates that go on, every story like this, every feel good story on premature babies needs to have a health care financials component to it. So people can look reality in the face.

Scalise aka David Duke without the baggage was saved by a married black lesbian and healed in a hospital by a number of immigrant nurse practitioners and doctors.
You figure after a traumatic experience like this he would have a broader understanding about the world.
After George Wallace was wounded he had his epiphany. Maybe Scalise will have his,

Their so-called god picks winners and losers and their religion is the rationalization for it. Christianity is not alone in such delusion. Every religion seems to imply that the true believer is somehow more worthy just for the fact of believing correctly. And then they shrug… God works in mysterious ways… For example, I had a former friend who was into all sorts new age stuff including Reiki who explained to me that God assembled all the angels in heaven to decide what to do about humanity. And all the angels were too afraid – except for one, by the name of Hitler. He selflessly volunteered to descend to earth to teach humanity its much needed lesson. Needless to say, we aren’t talking anymore – especially after she voted for Trumpstein. Even progressive blue states like mine are full of such idiots who think they are divinely favored.

Yeah I think the whole Jesus story is just an adaption of Hercules and the other one that’s similar from Greece is it? Don’t know much about Islam or any other religion and don’t really care to take the time to learn since I don’t think I’d end up believing them either if I rejected Christianity after growing up in a strong but moderate Christian home.

ā€œā€¦and I vow that I will vote to end Obamacare when it comes up again next year so I can deny the not-so-fortunate-as-I American public the healthcare that is my God-given right as a conservative hypocritical asshole.ā€
And I don’t care if the motherfucker got shot - he’s still a hypocrite, and he’s still an asshole. I’ll save my tears for the black kids who get shot for walking down the street by the cops for no reason and usually don’t even end up in the hospital - they end up in the morgue. I’ll save my tears for the people who try to pay their hospital and doctor bills while not denying everybody else’s civil rights and trying to end their access to decent and affordable healthcare.
I have no tears for Steve Scalise. I have no sympathy for a RW racist homophobic gun nut.
And I’ll bet before next week he declares his undying support for Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race.

I always wince when people speak of karma – as though somehow the inexplicable misfortune that befalls someone is payback for misdeeds they committed in a prior life and they need to learn a lesson from it. Its so common a belief where I live in Seattle – but maybe just a unconscious reflex like exclaiming OMG or Jesus f-ing Christ. Nevertheless, I do hope trump et al face the justice of our society, if not from ā€œgod.ā€

You have to listen to this truly shocking excerpt of a conversation between Trump and Howard Stern July 26, 2008. Scalise is lucky his life was not dependent upon Trump:

An even greater relief, at least to a Republican, should be knowing there’s more guns in the hands of more crazy people now than there were three months ago.

No, no, it can’t. He’s a tea bagger republican. They don’t do self-reflection.

That’s coz there’s no reflection in the mirror!

Thanks, thanks, I’ll be here all week!

Pretty sure he’s still all in.

I don’t know anything about guns, but surely his prolonged, difficult recovery and presumed lifetime ahead of complications can be traced to Republican/NRA insistence that every Tom, Dick, and Harry have access to military weapons with their tumbling bullets that do so much damage to organs and flesh. Not that this would occur to the knucklehead.
