True brave patriotic Americans, pissing their pants again. There’s always the chance of roving rabid coyotes or something I guess.
Two thousand rounds might seem excessive to non-shooters, but they can go through them pretty quickly if the plan is to train them to use the firearms proficiently and to practice to maintain that proficiency. It does sound like they get to have a school officials shooting club at the publics expense, though.

Most school shootings seem to be done by white male teenagers in rural or suburban areas and there are plenty of guns to be had in rural Idaho.

Given the state of a lot of indoor (and even some outdoor) firing ranges, are we going to get articles in a few months about teachers on leave due to lead poisoning?

Naw…they just wanted to buy guns and do the gun thing. There’s no reason to think it would take 45 minutes for the Cops to respond to an active shooter. And, now that the world knows there’s guns in there any shooter will come prepared for that. And gun loving burglars will love it.
Drop all the defense crap. Someone’s a gun nut and they used their official position to buy guns. With the tax payer money.
Indeed – and if the taxpayers think the firearm and ammo budget is outrageous, wait until they see the bill for the booze.

What, no hand grenades and rocket launchers, what if, the ‘threat’ was an Islam gang or drone?
Did they also buy gun safes and build bunkers?
Is a rifle really the best gun for this, are they expecting marauding elk or non-whitetail deer?
How about tackling the problem of Lone Wolfs(ves?) instead of going to war with the after affect.
