Right wing media darling for being a snotty, sneering prick, showing off for his klavern. Next stop, the Kentucky governor’s mansion.
From what I’ve seen in the videos, the main disrespect was shown by the Hebrew Israelites (not affiliated with actual Hebrews or Israelites). And why Phillips, the Native American, thought it would be a good idea to march up to the KY students and bang a drum in their faces is a mystery to me; it certainly wasn’t going to calm things down.
And the two who appeared on Fox today said that blackface was only showing school spirit. Their whole culture reeks.
Surfaces? Never trust auto-correct TPM.
Mr. Sandmann may be a little snot, but he’s definitely being taught by the adults around him to ‘stand his ground.’ He said, 'My position is . . ." Someone told him to use that language. It’s heartbreaking that kids like him aren’t being taught the empathy, understanding, and responsibility we so desperately need in this world.
The shock here is the GOP machine. They’ve got this kid weaponized practically overnight.
Tells me they’re getting ready to drop the mask: HRC’s vast right wing conspiracy laid bare.
Trying to show a different image. What ever media enhancements he and his PR firm tries now is not going to change what we saw. Hope all those parents and school get a clue that this is off the the scale of acceptable and either shut the school down or make radical improvements. Too late for these entitled little snips.
“look for the helpers,” I’d say. Whether the situation can be defused or not, Phillips strikes me as a guy who walks the talk.
Take off the offensive MAGA hat ( Hood)
Apologize for that
We know what it represents
Imagine if any of the Central Park five were given such a chance to explain themselves. You’re a rich, privileged white kid from Trump country and they hire you a PR firm and get you on the Today Show.
What’s obvious is that taking stock and trying to understand why half of America is pissed off is not in their playbook. Just demonstrating that that’s occurred to them would be progress. And it’s hard to claim innocence when you’re walking around DC wearing a MAGA hat.
What sort of parents think their first move should be to hire a PR firm? Why not go with standard conservative response, the insincere apology?
I’d say the greatest disrespect in this whole thing is by the assholes who think they’re going to convince everyone that this little prick is innocent, that he was not smirking at Mr. Philips, and that he and his bros were not engaged in gleefully racist mocking and taunting of Mr. Philips. They insult our intelligence and they lack respect for common human decency.
ETA: Young Master Sandman needs to quickly get a clue, quit listening to his parents and the “PR” firm they hired, and just STFU.
Let me know when teenage boys in packs stop being stupid and disrespectful, not to mention loud, impulsive and behaving without thought of consequences constantly. They are why parents can’t sleep until they get home once they start driving and going out with the buddies. Stories like this demonstrate, like nothing else can, the power of everybody having instant video and how that is not always a good thing.
This is nothing but chumming the waters.
So…he can’t help it if he has resting smirk face?
You forgot gleefully racist.
I’d like to see it when he learns the valuable life lesson that just because you have the right to do something doesn’t always mean you should.
Can we move on from this lil chit and the whole story. Nothing good is going to come from it. Shows what the Republican party has become. Won’t apologize and move on… Stand your ground. I have no issue with beating this kid in the head with my fist and I am in my 40’s. 15 minutes are over let’s move on… Don’t ever apologize to these people EVER!!!
and videos surfaced giving a fuller image of what happened.
Did the kids say ‘build the wall’ to that man? #endofstory
“My position is that I was not disrespectful to Mr. Phillips. I respect him.”
This is not the way any teen-ager talks. It’s the way a PR person tells a teen-ager to talk.
