Discussion: Husband Of KY Clerk: 'She Won't Resign, I Promise You'

Like Eustace implied, Davis ran as a Democrat. The right-wingnut-o-sphere is all abuzz with trying to disingenuously paint her as a liberal while simultaneously defending her. And of course they ignore the fact that its the left that wants her in the slammer or to resign from office. But it does make this whole thing a bit tricky to dance around.

I read on a pretty constant basis various blog commenters who refuse to support Hillary. Particularly some folks who are all in for Bernie. I see it all the time. Whether they stay home or not is the question, but the logic astounds me.

Reading comments really early in the day… I should be more careful.
:smiling_imp:

You’re shitting me-80 Grand? Who else gets that in a backwater county in Ky? Chief of Police and Superintendant of Schools I guess. Nope, she isn’t giving up her gravy train!

She probably also won’t remain faithful or married to you…anything else we need to know?

Probably fans of frot. No way his 3" tallywhacker would reach.

I think this dude may want to be careful what he wishes for. I believe that since this woman is contempt of court, which is a crime, the Governor may have cause to remove her and call a special election to find her replacement.

“There’s lots of clerks in Kentucky that have the same conscience
convictions, and they have one request — just remove our name from the
official licenses,” Staver told ABC. “You can have the Commonwealth of
Kentucky, that’s fine. They’ll record it, that’s fine. Just don’t affix
their name and title to a marriage certificate that collides with their
religious beliefs.”

So the clerks in KY can flout the law if they so choose? They can ignore the duties they were elected to do? They can ignore the orders of Federal Judge and the Supreme Court if they feel so inclined? What, may I ask, is Kentucky coming to? Anarchy?

There is a page on Facebook for the Progressives that have, pretty much to a man, said if Hillary is the Democratic candidate, they will stay home.

More than a few other Progressive sites that say the same thing.

We can’t limit the discussion to just prominent Democrats staying home. Anyone staying home is a fool and the GOP folks will show up in droves to ensure that their way of life and thinking takes hold.

It happened in the last mid-term election, so it’s not a pipe dream. Look what we’ve ended up with.

“Bunning cannot bully me, my wife or my son,” Joe Davis said on Friday"

Bullshit…the Judge put the woman in jail. Who is counseling this loudmouth? He spouts off at the Governor, the person that issue a pardon and the Judge, the person that can let his wife out. How fucking stupid ( and yes I can see the man is no genius ) is this idiot?

Hey…here’s another idea…just do your job or resign…easy peasy. Right? Or get the law in Kentucky changed. Until then, sit in that cell and rot!

Since this is a Federal contempt of court jailing, the governor can’t issue a pardon. Not even President Obama could use a power of pardon in this instance.

People say a LOT of things until they get a good look at who will be actually running against Hilary, if she’s the nominee. Then they will be sprinting to the polls in the General to vote for Hilary. People say a lot of things during Primaries.

Let’s not forget George Wallace and Bull Connor. History surely remembers them fondly.

Thats because the election is 15 months away and they havent even seen who will be running against her. After getting an eyeful and earful of her opponent, no Dem or Prog will be sitting this election out. This early in the campaign, people ALWAYS say this stuff, until they vote for the Dem OR against the GOTeabagger.

I hope you are right, but isn’t this how we ended up with W. over Al Gore?

Of course, but the invitation was to prove it. That’s impossible, so anecdotal evidence is all we have.
