I’m glad it’s hitting a red state, at least the people will be taken care of.
Completely unrelated, but I will not be the least bit surprised if it turns out this guy set his own truck on fire and spray painted graffiti himself…just sayin’…
Not gonna be fun on the Red Neck Riviera…
Stay safe!
Tallahassee/Leon Co. is actually blue.
But 5 will get you 10 this Wakulla Co resident is a tea partier who doesn’t want to pay any taxes.
Annette Strickland, 75, arrived at a Tallahassee high school. While
glad to have a safe place to ride out the storm, she wasn’t happy that
her home county couldn’t provide shelter.“I feel like that they should’ve provided something,” she said. “That’s just me. I don’t want to be ugly.”
I have family in Sneads,FLA,about 50 miles northwest of Tallahassee. They will be evacuating to another family member’s house in Dothan,AL if need be.
“Florida is surrounded by water. It is very wet.” Donald Trump.
“When the President said that Florida was surrounded by water, he meant it was a peninsula, which, technically is surrounded by water. If Florida was surrounded on three sides in a military conflict, it would be surrounded.” Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Huh.
My first ugly thought was that if one up high wanted to help out the D’s and hurt the R’s taking out the “Red Neck Riviera” is a rather effective way to do it. Outside of Tallahasee, which is inland, the entire area about to get hit is a Red Area. Will not help R turn out if this comes in as a category 3+ storm.
I think she needs to look up the word, “surround.” I do not think it means what she thinks it means.
Aja Kemp, 36, planned to stay in her mobile home in Crawfordville.
Does it float? Is that what “mobile” means? Or does that refer only to the ability of mobile homes to become airborn when hit by strong winds?
Not a fan of red states in general (politicians, not the people) but, really feel for the people in the Carolina’s. A double whammy for them. All the good karma I can muster to them. Be well.
Well, perhaps. However: “We’ve been flooded out three times in the last ten years. But we’re going to rebuild, by god!” I feel for the slow learners, but at the end of the day, I don’t want my tax dollars or charitable contributions being used to encourage this kind of behavior. I’m terribly sorry, but you just can’t live two feet above sea level.
and also oppose every plan to mitigate global warming that has ever been mentioned
I hear you and sometimes my rage at their ignorance puts me in that place but, at the same time, it’s hard for me not to feel the pain of those suffering, ignorance notwithstanding.
All I keep picturing is this storm churning up all that Red Tide/ algae on the west coast of Fl and the horrible amounts of dead sea life that will be washed onto shore and inland… be safe Floridians!
It was a fictional quote following a fictional Trump quote. Sorry. He said relief work was hard to provide in Puerto Rico because it was an Island surrounded by water.
