Hey, we’ve got Muricans to think about . . .

Thank Jeebus we have Donnie Ubum Dotard on the case.
Except for the U.S. territory wanting its $33 million back, *“I think they’re doing very well.”

My heart breaks for the people of Puerto Rico and the nearby islands. Unfathomable.

And on the Dotard’s mind? Dotard.

The way to get Republican to flood their island with money and supplies is to circulate these two Washington Post articles among Republican politicians:

How a hurricane could cause Florida — the swingiest of swing states — to turn a bit more blue

The Puerto Ricans are coming

Puerto Ricans are American citizens. And they tend to overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

Sadly it took people suffering due to the poor response to a hurricane for some folks to admit Dubya had his head up his ass.

I sincerely wish that were true, but as brown, accented latinos they will not get within a mile of the polls in red states. Voter suppression will work as well against island blahs as it does against mainland blahs.

The only thing that will work is sustained outrage on national media every day for the next 13 months. Katrina took out the repug congress 14 months later. But we can’t let it get buried under trumpy’s distractions (shut up about the NFL and start yelling about Puerto Rico.)

Hang on, Puerto Rico: The 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles are on the way.

I made a donation to George H. W. Bush’s “One America Appeal” because Barack Obama asked me to, and designated it for hurricane Maria relief.

The Virgin Islands were hit even harder (with St. Thomas and St. John facing the brunt of Irma’s Cat 5 force and then getting flooded by Maria’s outer bands, while St. Croix took Maria at Cat. 5 forces) and are dependent on shipments coming in from PR for most supplies. Please highlight these facts when reporting on the devastation. They’re small, but over 100,000 Americans live on the islands. They are strong, proud and resilient, but they desperately need all the help mainlanders can muster.

Kills me that states are/have figured out how to help and Trump is still busy yelling about a respectful protest.

I don’t recall ever reading about any policy like this before. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/352824-trump-administration-forcing-puerto-rico-evacuees-to-pay-for
