And an apparent tornado spun off by Irma destroyed six mobile homes in Palm Bay, midway up the Atlantic coast.

Has anyone done a study yet to see just what it is about mobile homes that attracts tornadoes?

Given the effects just seen, I wonder if the “sunk cost fallacy” applies here? Should we a) not be throwing money at Florida that doesn’t go into climate change adaptation or mitigation measures, or b) that might encourage more people to live there only to have to pay more next time around? If Congress is going to spend $300 billion and take it away from other budgets, how is money spent on Irma recovery best spent?
