If we had a Presidential Alert system so the leader of the free world could send everybody a text message these people would not have been caught by surprise. Another Obama failure. Sad.
Are the paper towels being loaded onto Air Force One in anticipation of Donnie’s visit to the Carolina’s next week?
“The wind was so hard, the waters were so hard … We got thrown into mailboxes, houses, trees,” said Holt, who had stayed at home because of a doctor’s appointment that was later canceled.
Wait, - wut??
Could use some copy editing. The way I read it between the lines she stayed home because of the appointment, then tried to leave herself in a rowboat and didn’t make it, because of all the knocking into things, and was eventually rescued by others.
Who decided to characterize a hurricane as an “unwanted visitor”? Usually you get stronger language for visitors who kill people, destroy houses…
Gov. Roy Cooper called Florence an “uninvited brute” .
Funny, that’s how I refer to Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
I wonder if the clowns in the state legislature will finally clue in that this is the beginning of the end. All that ocean front property which has been a big driver of the local economy is doomed…
Never in my life have I heard weather forecasters measure potential rainfall in FEET!
Fun Fact: For a little perspective, 1" of rain is roughly the equivalent of one foot of snow.
Gov. Roy Cooper called Florence an “uninvited brute”.
You and every other maître d’ on the planet.
How many brown people are affected? That’s how Donny will decide how bad it was. The higher the number, the less the damage,
Dispatch from Myrtle Beach, Saturday, 9/15/18, 2:00 p.m.
Well, the hyped Hurricane Florence has passed us in Myrtle Beach. I’ve got a well built house, so I’m not worried about it being tossed around. Oceanfront always takes a beating, but it slowed down before getting to us, so it wasn’t too bad.
Tropical Depression, nee Hurricane, Florence is a lot wider than most hurricanes, being up to 500 miles across as opposed to the normal 300-400 miles across. Plus it’s slow moving and they expect it to dump a lot of water on the Carolina. South Carolina is in the position of being downstream of the bulk of North Carolina’s watershed. When North Carolina can’t absorb anymore water, the rain will enter the streams and rivers and flow downstream to South Carolina who will get two, two scoops of Hurricane water.
Meanwhile, Sprocket and I rode out the hurricane binge-watching old movies on Amazon Prime. Publix grocery stores were open until 2:00 p.m yesterday and today. Waffle House was open with a limited menu. I left my garbage cans out and they weren’t even knocked over. The worst of the hurricane is over for us, but we’ll see what the next brings as far as waterfall, flash floods and other flooding.
Is ICE going to return the funds it got from FEMA if FEMA runs out of money? Is Spanky going to do a flyover and throw out paper towels? Has the FEMA director been replaced with someone who is competent and honest? Is Santa Claus finally going to bring me that pony I asked for 60 years ago?
Speaking of which …
I always thought this was a joke. Shows you what I know.
Shaken after seeing waves crashing on the Neuse River just outside his house in New Bern, restaurant owner and hurricane veteran Tom Ballance wished he had evacuated.
“I feel like the dumbest human being who ever walked the face of the earth,” he said.
Inquiring minds want to know…is he a Drumpf voter?
