Thank goodness. I don’t think I could have gotten through the weekend without knowing what these two washed-up has-been asswipes thought about this subject.
I am so relieved to find out what Joe Lieberman, traitor to the Democrat cause thinks.
I have great respect for Jon Huntsman, though.
I can’t even imagine how clammy that handshake must have been. And it’s amazing that Lieberman can STILL cause so much revulsion in me after all this time. Disgust springs eternal, I suppose.
“ending bipartisan brinkmanship”
FALSE EQUIVALENCE
GOP Blockade Of SCOTUS ‘Not Acceptable’
Sadly, I don’t think that is what they would have said if the nominee were someone younger and considered to be substantially liberal.
can’t give this enough “likes”
I really thought hard about that analysis–I cannot do my job in this election year–but my boss just would not go along.
If Joe LIEberman was motivated to crawl out from under his slimy rock to declare anything from the GOP not acceptable, it must be a convoluted attempt to betray Democrats somehow. I have no proof of this, but it’s his m.o.
the Gravitas…the Gravita… I can barely …move the …mouse…
I can’t see anyone (brains or no) giving a flying phuck what these two think. I know I don’t.
Two guys without a constituency get printed up in Time. Funny that a magazine that should be in the know doesn’t realize no one cares what these guys think except naval-gazing Washington insiders.
Possibly he lost a bet.
Not the NYT. Time magazine.
“It’s simply about making sure our government, including the highest court in the land, can actually function,” they wrote of holding a vote for the nominee.
McConnell has already said there is no guarantee even the next President will get hearings and a vote on their nominees, a statement obviously only applicable to a Democrat winner of the office. So, we can probably surmise the GOP would like to cripple and shrink SCOTUS to the point they can drown it in the same bathtub they want to drown the rest of the government in.
"Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) " I think the last ‘party’ he belonged to was something like “Connecticut for Lieberman” or “Lieberman for Connecticut”. Something douchy like that.
Thanks for the correction. I edited my original post.
I do too. He’s one of the few sane Republicans left. Actually, he may be the only sane Republican left.
And it’s a good thing he’s not running for POTUS this year. Because whether we care to admit it or not, Hillary would have a difficult time beating him.
Damn. Now I guess I have to consider the possibility that it is acceptable to blockade a Supreme Court nominee.
I wouldn’t have thought so, but if Joe Lieberman is Morally Pronouncing on it, the opposite is virtually guaranteed to be true.
Who??? but what does Sharon Angle think about this?
