Discussion: Hulu Removes All Episodes Of '19 Kids And Counting' From Its Service

Discussion for article #236880

I’d be willing to bet they’ll have a gofundme account set up soon seeing how their cash cow is about to go tits up.

Some conservative network will bail them out and arrange air time, if for no other reason than to just flip off everyone.

I don’t think they have their own network yet.

Check out the TLC.com website. There’s already a NEW show about ANOTHER conservatard devilspawn family. This one only has 14 children, so they’ve got some catching up to do.

I think TLC really ought to rebrand itself as “Hillbilly TV”

Check out what life is really like inside the religious cult that the Duggars belong to: http://www.salon.com/2015/05/28/i_couldve_been_a_duggar_wife_i_grew_up_in_the_same_church_and_the_abuse_scandal_doesnt_shock_me/

That’s why the correct name is “The Larnin’ Channel.”

They wouldn’t air it if people didn’t watch it.

This is such a tragedy. Poor Jim Bob was intending on using the residuals to help buy his children shoes.

That raises the question of just how many viewers that show really has. With the cable-era fragmentation of audiences, it’s not like it’s going to have the nationwide reach that “Gunsmoke” or “All in the Family” or even “Seinfeld” had.

What helps makes these horseshit “reality” shows profitable is that they’re not using union actors or writers the way they’d have to if they were working and filming out of Hollywood.

Can you say CMT?

I’m awfully tempted to comment on the “Which Willis child are YOU!?” page and ask which one of the boys is the fondler.

I guess that depends on the number of cable subscribers as a percentage of the population. They’re clearly getting enough viewership for companies to justify advertising on a show and concerned enough about their brand to pull their advertising when one of the ‘cast’ is found to have raped his siblings.

Maybe the History Channel. They’d run an hour of displayed Nazi toe nail clippings.

If Jim Bob had pulled out earlier, he wouldn’t be so worried about the advertisers pulling out now.

I saw that, it was a real nail-biter.

This also brings in the question of cable bundling, and the monster of a la carte program choice which providers like Comcast are fighting tooth and nail to prevent. Fox, TLC, and the History Channel are all part of the basic cable package we have here in Ann Arbor with Comcast, and the only one I occasionally watch is the last one (there’s nothing quite like its “Ancient Aliens” programming for ridiculous faux-historic hoo-ha). If I could do so, I would eliminate about 98% of everything I get with the basic service, but I’m sure that when the producers of “Let’s Make a Baby with the Duggars” are talking with advertisers, they’re probably including all the Comcast subscribers in my area—including me—as viewers.

What the hell is the deal with “Ancient Aliens” anyway? Something more topical would probably draw more eyes. Maybe “Last Tuesday’s Aliens”.

Isn’t that RAMBLA?
