What? Can’t he go to Ikea for this stuff?.. there an Ikea south of DC somewhere.
Well, even if we accept that Carson did not order the DR set, who, pray tell, is the head of HUD and therefore responsible for this outrageous expenditure. All this while Carson is drastically making cuts for those in need. The hypocrisy is stunning.
Ikea is for plebes, not our ordained government employees, didn’t you know?
Serfs shop there, not the nobility. I mean, he has a framed painting of him and Jesus in home. He’s just one step blow god.
WTF. Why is nobody asking the obvious question? Let me help:
WHAT THE FLYING FUCK DOES HUD NEED WITH A DINING ROOM SET IN THE FIRST PLACE???
You’re a fucking office. Get a goddamn, fucking conference room table and chairs and maybe a credenza for the side AND GET TO FUCKING WORK.
So when will a reporter ask Dr. Ben how he squares spending thousands on furniture (with taxpayer money, no less) while actively trying to cut welfare benefits for poor people with his outspoken Christianity? Does he truly believe that his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would buy a $31,000 dinner set when there are many families nearby that make less than that in a year?
“The $165K were purchases are done by the career employees in charge of building purchases,”
See? The deep state democrats did it!
As for the insanely-priced table, leaving the fuckery of trump’s cabinet members aside, I would defy anyone to explain how this table is materially worth more than even, say, a 10,000 dollar table. Unless it’s made of solid gold or something (hmmm… maybe carson is planning on hosting donnnie in the office), it seems impossible to me that a table could actually contain materials and labor worth that price. It must be a rich-person-brand table with the cost coming from the name.
Then again, I’m not a big table buyer, and certainly not a rich person table buyer, so maybe I’m just ignorant about the finer things in life.
Huh? This is a republican administration. There is no “work.”
Wait, did you mean “graft?” That’s what they’re doing!
It’s absolutely that. This is a plutocrat – an outspoken Christian, no less – spending other people’s money on luxurious frivolities.
And good catch on the “career employees” mention – which occurred twice. I hate their f’ing dog whistles almost as much as how effortlessly they lie and dodge responsibility for everything.
If there’s one constant in this Administration (other than being a possible person of interest to Mueller) is their treating the government as a piggybank. And, of course, it starts with the grifter-in-Chief. I suppose I should be thankful Russia or China didn’t pay for it.
Peasant! You cannot conceive of the needs of the nobility! Away with you now!
I was going to say that was snark, but anymore, it’s not really snark at all.
His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…
Oh my, that was funny.
In incidents like these, I honestly think reporters should start asking these charlatans, “Is that what Jesus would do?” It’s long past time to really pound home how completely full of shit they are.
Well, if he does have Donnie over, I certainly hope the KFC drippings don’t ruin the veneer.
Oops… Left out a vowel there.
I was an accident.
Really.
Wonder how fox’s non-coverage of this one is going?
Just once…just ONCE…I wish a producer would tell Dooce and company that one of these stories is a leftover from the Obama administration, one that the “liberal media” let slide, and watch them go off for twenty minutes about wasteful govt spending before someone clues them in.
Ahh if life was only like that.
Let their faith never be questioned so sayeth the Lord.

What I want to know is why can’t he get a high-end TV tray at the local church?
I had some Category 5 born-agains who lived next door and they got all their furniture from one of the nearby houses of God.
They even threw in a fork.
