Discussion: Huckabee To Hold ‘#I’mWithKim Liberty Rally’ At Kentucky Jail

Discussion for article #240163

These people are such hypocrites. They want the liberty to deny everyone else liberty who disagrees with them. That is the antithesis of what this country was founded on.

Did he hold a rally demanding that Susan McDougal be released when Susan was held in Arkansas jails for 18 months on a civil contempt charge?

This is a direct attack on our God-given, constitutional rights.

God didn’t give us the constitution, liberal thinking men did.

Mr. Huckabee who has apparently made a career out of running for president without really running for president is simply jumping on the coattails of the latest bigot folk hero for profit. He goes where he thinks the money will be and nothing more. Gluttony isn’t the only sin Mr. Huckabee is very familiar with.

I wonder how much money he’ll get from the goobers who go there to this rally or who send in $$$ to support the Hucksterbee for his Cru$ade to turn the USA into a Chrisitan nation. Let’s put all LGBT people back in their closets, take away their dignity and equal rights under the law; that’s what he wants to have happen. So go ahead, goobers, give this man your $$.

Yup, this little stunt will be good for a few hundred thousand, at least.

On Thursday, he called her arrest proof that we’re witnessing the “criminalization of Christianity in our country”

Funny that. Mrs Van Holst is planning to attend Episcopal services tomorrow [1]. The church is very nice and constructed in the neo-Spanish Colonial style. True, attendance is down, but that’s because the old parishioners are dying off and aren’t being replaced by younger people because the latter really don’t care that much about religion. It’s a source of concern, but proselytism isn’t really much of an option for Episcopalians. Almost all of them accept marriage equality and the vicar will perform such marriages. Episcopalians are, in general, good, “laid back” kinds of believer. They very much consider themselves Christians and only a few of them; no more than usual; are considered criminals.

[1] I haven’t gone for years.

Huckabee wants to use the power of the government to force his brand of Christianity on everyone else.

the Huckster’s new slogan should be…

‘We Find New Ways to Monetize Your Misery–Real, Imagined or Self Inflicted’

Couple of thoughts: A) Kim Davis is a Democrat. I know: KY Democrats are not akin to Democrats in other places. B) seems to me that just as the huckster is aligning himself with miscreants who flout the law, he & his ilk will also glorify Jefferson Davis & Stonewall Jackson, etc., as heroes. . . . despite their being traitors to the Union, openly committing treason. Yet they are deified by elements of our society, not confined to the old confederacy. Tell me there is not a HUGE disconnect here -

Best thing about being an Episcopalian? Wherever ye find four, ye shall find a fifth

That’s not enough! There must be a rally at every jail holding those brave County Clerks who are –
I mean, there must be hundreds, if not thousands of --. I suppose I should Google it and – No one else? No one else thought they could just ignore their oath and still collect their paycheck? Perhaps I’ve been misinformed about this issue.

But even the most impoverished tea-bagger is united with the Kochs in their zeal to defend “power and privilege” as an end in itself – now that’s just not normal; that’s karaaazzzy; that’s conservativism

Kim Davis is supported by a bunch of lawyers who, like it or not, are responsible for the suffering of a lot of people. These are the same people who backed Lisa Miller and aided in the kidnapping of a young girl away from her mother.

Mike Huckabee should move to Uganda. It is as simple as that. He hates our Constitution. He hates our laws. He hates our way of life. So, he and Davis should just leave.

Of course, if they want to experience real persecution- drop their asses in Mosul.

There are a few others in Kentucky and Texas, with Alabama having 12 or 14, I forget. 17 total.

Edit: Who are refusing to marry Gays. None of them have been thrown in the slammer… yet.
