Discussion for article #239177
âThe military is not a social experiment. The purpose of the military is kill people and break things,â Huckabee said during the GOPâs top-tier debate. "It is not to transform the culture by trying out some ideas that some people think would make us a different country and more diverse.

It is hereby declared to be the policy of the President that there shall be equality of treatment and opportunity for all persons in the armed services without regard to race, color, religion or national origin. This policy shall be put into effect as rapidly as possible, having due regard to the time required to effectuate any necessary changes without impairing efficiency or morale.
goes back to the idea of selecting Dickey in regards to a spot start. Briefly mutters 'Jebbus, make actual US History mandatory again.
f----
Was about to say the same thing.
â⌠Did you forget about the desegregation of the armed forces and how that was handled, you halfwit?â
Those ignorant of history are condemned to repeat it. Southern redneck bigotry will never end.

the funniest thing
I cleaned my cache out and I hit refresh on the main page. I saw thatâŚand all of a sudden,
oh man. The funniest things in regards to that statement is: women in the military and eventually the service academies was a damn social experiment. Separate but equal in regards to most aspects of African American life was a damn social experiment.
He knows this. Chances are heâs aware that most of his home state senators (including one of the most well known senators of the late 20c century. Yep this is an edit.) were against desegregation (this little diddy being an example) and yet because its âcandy landâ, thatâŚ
yehâŚback to contemplating âGausman versus Dickeyâ.
Only thing that matters is capability of doing the job. Whether you shoot strait, not if you are straight, or whatever genitalia you are sporting in your underwear.
Huckabee doesnât know a fucking thing about the military or what he is talking about.
It is the policy of the Department of Defense to conduct all of its activities in a manner which is free from racial discrimination, and which provides equal opportunity for all uniformed members and all civilian employees irrespective of their color. (para. I.)
The military departments shall . . . issue appropriate instructions, manuals and regulations in connection with the leadership responsibility for equal opportunity, on and off-base, and containing guidance for its discharge. (para. II.B.1.)
Every military commander has the responsibility to oppose discriminatory practices affecting his men and their dependents and to foster equal opportunity for them, not only in areas under his immediate control, but also in nearby communities where they may live or gather in off-duty hours. (para. II.C.)
Here ya goâŚ
Robert McNamara-'63.
I served twenty six years, never heard any of my superior officers say any shit like that.
Hell, if only weâd aâ knowed that and had openly practiced it!
Dear dog I love hearing shitbirds who did their damnedest to avoid serving America rattle their sabers and say stupid shit like that.
Itâs right up there with watching all those men expound on how women donât matter once a sperm meets an egg.
Though said person should know better, i bet a quarter that he gets R Lee Ermey to back that statement.
You knowâŚâreasonsâ.
Hey Sooner. That term seemed to be popular with pilots about 20 years ago (at least when I first heard it as a civilian working for the Air Force). I was not particularly impressed with it then either. Wonder if the huck boys will join the Marines to prove how the military should work.
Are you kidding?
The Huckster will be the first one to âDuck and Coverâ⌠'cause his first act in office will be to push the goddamn buttonâŚ

Yeah, no social experiments, man!!
Get those ni****s, sp**s and skirts out now!
âIâm not sure how paying for transgender surgery for soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines makes our country safer.â
It makes us safer by helping us retain dedicated, seasoned, highly skilled military personnel for whose specialized training we have paid a great deal, dumb-ass.
Of course, you canât expect someone who thinks of service members as cannon fodder, whose lives he, as president, could be as free to waste as in a video game, to figure that out.

WTF
This guy sounds like a 5 year old kid.
I canât imagine him being the CoC. I mean, just the thought actually scares me
On another note, I used to hate when the Republicans would refer to Obamaâs presidency as an âexperimentâ. There was a certain undercurrent, unsaid meaning to it. I notice they quietly stopped saying it, which makes me wonder if they gave up on it because it wasnât effective or if others got that ucomfortable feeling about it too.
At any rate, that he would refer to transgender people as some âexperimentâ is very telling. Itâs also pretty disgusting.
What a hatefull âman of Godâ.
