Kelly: Is Trump a racist?

Huckabuck; No, not by my standards.

ā€œThatā€™s why I have to wonder, what did he hear? Did he misunderstand it?ā€ Huckabee asked.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper repeatedly asked Donald Trump on Sunday to denounce David Dukeā€™s support for his candidacy, but Trump insisted he didnā€™t know anything about the former KKK grand wizard.

ā€œWill you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you donā€™t want his vote and that of other white supremacists in this election?ā€ Tapper asked Trump on ā€œState of the Union.ā€

ā€œEven if you donā€™t know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally that you condemn them and you donā€™t want their support?ā€ he asked Trump.

But Trump again insisted again he didnā€™t know about Duke:

I have to look at the group. I mean, I donā€™t know what group youā€™re talking about. You wouldnā€™t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them. And certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.

ā€œThe Ku Klux Klan?ā€ Tapper interjected.

Trump continued his answer without addressing the KKK.

ā€œYou may have groups in there that are totally fine and it would be very unfair. So give me a list of the groups, and Iā€™ll let you know,ā€ he told Tapper.

Tapper seemed somewhat perplexed.

ā€œOK, I mean, Iā€™m just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but ā€¦ā€ he said, trailing off and inviting Trump to comment.

"Honestly, I donā€™t know David Duke. I donā€™t believe Iā€™ve ever met him. Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™ve didnā€™t meet him. And I just donā€™t know anything about him," Trump said.

That last part is of course a lie.

ā€œNot except in that interview**, is what his critics say**,ā€ Kelly hit back. ā€œIt was so strange that he would say on Friday, ā€˜I disavow David Duke.ā€™ And then when specifically asked on Sunday, acted like he didnā€™t know who David Duke was.ā€

Journalism is Kellyā€™s profession when she doesnā€™t want to call out her human friend for the obvious bullshit heā€™s spewing. Sorry, but Megyn Kelly wasnā€™t trying to get to the truth here. She and Huckster are closeā€“sheā€™s made that clear ever since he was employed at FOX Entertainment.

Trump must have promised Huckabee heā€™d consider making it mandatory for school districts who receive federal funding to use one or more of Huckā€™s ā€œeducational historyā€ books he writes for little childrenā€“you know, the ones where he brings up the evangelical Christian god throughout the book.

When asked about Trump refusing to distance himself from Duke on Sunday, Huckabee balked and instead brought up the late Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV).

ā€œLook, I know itā€™s an incredible overwhelming fascination ā€” Iā€™ve been watching this morning. But, look, let me ask you this, do you think Hillary Clinton is going to have to answer for her relationship with Sen. Robert Byrd who was an actual member of the KKK?ā€ Huckabee asked.

In 1997, Byrd told an interviewer he would encourage young people to become involved in politics but also warned, ā€œBe sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Donā€™t get that albatross around your neck. Once youā€™ve made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena.ā€ In his last autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a KKK member because he ā€œwas sorely afflicted with tunnel vision ā€” a jejune and immature outlook ā€” seeing only what I wanted to see because I thought the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions.ā€ Byrd also said, in 2005, "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times ā€¦ and I donā€™t mind apologizing over and over again. I canā€™t erase what happened.

Huckabee: Drumpf is not racist. He is on the record saying that he loves The Blacks. I also conjecture that he has few non-White friends as he is from the immoral NYC. He is smart enough to know rapists and terrorists invading this country.

Great post!! Democrats need to point to that interview and quote Byrd, word for word.

Huckabee: ā€œDoes anybody think Donald Trump is a racistā€

We donā€™t THINK Trump is a racistā€¦We KNOW Trump is a racist.

Its the people that Trump is racist against that get it. Huckabee has financial incentives to play stupid.

Trump can run, but he canā€™t hide. His day of reckoning is coming. Heā€™s sliding past the sharks for the moment but the day of, Yes-Iā€™m for the KKK or NO-Iā€™m appalled by and totally against the KKK is coming.

Then he can answer to the Latinos and the Ladies. What an awesome future he has to look forward to.

Seeing how dead men are now getting talked about, letā€™s address the livingā€¦

From '15

ā€œI want to know, has there ever been a modern debate where an argument was won by using a Nazi analogy?ā€ Dickerson asked, referencing Huckabeeā€™s recent remark that with the Iran deal, President Obama was marching Israelis ā€œto the door of the oven.ā€

And of course

By the way, Huckabee was scheduled to speak in person, but he declined and sent a video tape, because Kirk Lyons, a Holocaust denier was one of the speakers.

Oh FFFS, Huckabeeā€™s throwing out an obvious red herring. The incident speaks for itself and the question isnā€™t whether Trump is a racist or not, although he is. Itā€™s glaringly clear Trump just didnā€™t want to reject the support of anyone, no matter how vile, and by doing that he crossed a line that no mainstream politician, no matter how rabidly ā€œconservative,ā€ would have dreamed of crossing before. You could actually be a racist and that was fine with your constituents, but it was understood that nobody would publicly accept the support or verbalize any tolerance of avowed racists in general and the Klan or anyone associated with it very much in particular. Iā€™ve noticed it many timesā€“the guy might have been prehistoric in every way, dog whistles morning until night, but you talk about an out-and-out racist individual or group and it was reflexive: ā€œI donā€™t want his support. That kind of intolerance has no place in America.ā€ It might have been insincere but it was lip service, at least, to common decency. Trump has closed the door on that era and everyone sees it and is saying so except for the most outrageous sniveling hypocrites like the Huckster.

And I havenā€™t even had my coffee yet. Damn. Itā€™s gonna be a long fuckinā€™ day.

Nice to see one GOP KKKraKKKer defend another!

Its funny how a dead man has to repeatedly apologize for something that he has always regretted.

The ONLY and I mean ONLY reason this fucker is even allowed to speak on the telly about Trump is to get the racists (for Trump, of course) who are too weak to look at themselves and their racism feeling a bit better about themselves.

Some (like Trump himself) are a tad more courageous.

ā€˜The truthā€™? The Huckster wants to talk ā€˜truthā€™? BS. The Donald knew what he was doing. He is unable to ā€˜disavowā€™ ANYONE that might ā€˜likeā€™ him. This time he stepped over the line. As far as Robert Byrd goesā€¦well heā€™s DEAD. He also spent 50 years disavowing his pastā€¦what about David Duke? No? Thereā€™s your ā€˜truthā€™ Mikey.
