Ryan was sworn on Oct. 29 after a contentious race for speaker in which conservatives tried to keep an establishment Republican out of the seat.

It ait happening (Ryan’s quitting), but the House still has to address that December 11th shutdown matter (which won’t likely happen, but get ready for more fireworks), so it wouldn’t be weird if that issue is suddenly on the table.

WTF is Ryan supposed to do about the Syrian refugee program? Last time I checked he was Speaker of the House of Representatives, not Sec’t’y for the Protection of the Fatherland.
