Discussion: Huckabee: Davis In Fed Custody Shows We Must Defend Religious Liberty

No. No it doesn’t.

But let me know if you need some help nailing that other hand to your cross, Huck.

Muslims across the world to Huckabee: Wait till they take you to Guantanamo for being a Muslim. This is a major upgrade.

Right, because a key tenet of Christianity is that every Christian should hold a public office that requires issuing marriage licenses and refuse to issue those licenses.

Yes, but Mike Huckabee will campaign for your right to … actually, for HIS being elected president, but you can be sure he’ll exploit your willingness to go to jail for the principles that he’ll reframe to suit his purposes.

And if that works for you, well, okay then! But if it doesn’t, too bad, you’re who’s going into the hoosgow, not him.

She’ll be a GoFundMe millionaire by the time she gets out of jail which will inspire the other hold out County Clerks.

GoFundme no longer allows for people to raise money while breaking a federal or state law.

So no, she’s only gonna get money from her fellow church-going goobers.

If Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin had a child together the spawn would be a black hole of ignorance that wiped the universe clean of knowledge.

Waiting for him to reconcile ‘preserve, protect and defend’ through that prism.

When you use your Christianity to force people to abide by laws that you like or want passed that benefit your religion then thats a problem. BTW we are a secular country not a Christian one

And this is why we keep religious out of government. I wonder if Huckabee would defending her if she were a Muslim or Jewish and looking to exercise her faith?

I am a Muslim.
I follow the teachings of the Quran.
Under those teachings, women are not allowed to drive.
Therefore, as an employee of the DMV, I will cite my religious beliefs and refuse to issue licenses to women.

There you go, Huck. Now…good idea or bad?

BTW, I’m not a Muslim. This is just an example of what Huck’s thinking would yield if applied uniformly.

Huckabee made a fool of himself this morning on Moanin’ Ho.

A federal judge is warning deputy clerks in Kentucky that they must issue marriage licenses to gay couples or face fines or jail.

U.S. Senator’s official oath of office:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

This means you Rand Paul! Too bad the Huckster isn’t under the same oath right
now or he’d have his lily white Xtian butt slammed in jail! .

“And how do we defend religious liberty? By sending me lots and lots of money!!”

And the perpetual victimhood of people who think the First Amendment means they can use religion to excuse their bigotry and force their beliefs on the public they have been sworn to serve.
She could quit her job and work for a church if living her religion 24/7 is so important.

He’s running for the sake of the many dead Presidents, Ben Franklins, and Alexander Hamiltons in this world.

Well. That didn’t take long.

Get bent Huck. There are a whole bunch of Christians appalled by this woman’s misuse of their faith to justify her bigotry. And yours.

I suppose if being a christian also means breaking laws of the country then yes, you have a point. What if a Muslim clerk decides he/she doesnt believe in women driving and decides they will not issue driver’s licences’ due to religious beliefs? If she is jailed or fired is that Islam under attack?
