Discussion: Huckabee: Beginning To Think There Is More Freedom In North Korea Than U.S

Discussion for article #221025

You are not allowed to go to the airport in N K if you are a Christian dumb ass.

Ole Huck really, really wants to be president. He’s begun to drop these little packages of red meat to the right-wing base & I think he actually has a good shot at putting together a coalition of RWNJs that bridges the Christian and the Libertarian Right.

Huckabee’s an idiot. When I go to vote I must show my voter registration card and a gov’t approved picture ID card BECAUSE of republican paranoia here in AZ against the “other”. Voter fraud has been proven to be miniscule here yet the legislature freaked about it.
The present airport security was instituted by a republican administration in response to the events of 9/11 and Richard Reed the shoe bomber. I admit I don’t like the TSA but I know why they do what they do. The equivalent of the TSA is everywhere in N. Korea. Here it’s just airports, Mike. Maybe in Arkansas they don’t need any ID.

If those words had been uttered by a Democrat or anyone they label as a “liberal”, FauxNews would have run that non-stop for weeks. I am constantly amazed (disgusted, really) how people like Huck keep uttering such mean, hate-filled comments as being aligned with Christian beliefs.

IMHO Huckleberry should accompany Dennis Rodman on his next trip, live there for a year and then report back to us. But seriously, a place like North Korea, where everyone is told what to thing, how to dress and even what hair styles are allowed is a GOTP dream!

I can’t wait to see him in his Kim Jong-Il haircut!

I suggest Huckabee take a trip to N. Korea

North Korea’s a bit of a touchy subject for me. As in, I kind of want to walk up to this moron and slug him lots right now.

I think Huckabee insulted the United States as a whole with his N. Korea comment. That place (N Korea is run by a 2 bit dictator with illusions of grandeur. As if his 3-4 nukes make him a world power. High time he was beyatch slapped by his own people.

I have to love the white privilege going on here, too. Being patted down, along with everyone else by the TSA, is a huge affront to his freedom. But I bet he has no problem whatsoever with stop and frisk policies, let alone the “papers please” law that was proposed in AZ, because as long as it’s not him being inconvenienced it’s fine.

That’s an astonishingly dumb thing to say as well as irresponsible knowing full well all the effing bumb asses who repeat and believe such nonsense.

Somebody should ask this clown why he hasn’t been silenced.

Annie, the “papers please” law (SB 1070) was passed and signed into law here in Arizona to our detriment as a state and as a place to do business.

The Kim Il Sung dynasty is worse than a two-bit dictatorship. They are very good at what they do, and there is no end in sight. Every time I go a while without reading a report from North Korea, my mind slowly starts to slip towards wondering if things are exaggerated. Just a tiny bit. Murder, torture, kidnapping, all that’s kind of old hat, but the complete mental and spiritual domination of an entire people is something I don’t even know how to grasp outside of bad fantasy fiction.

Oh, it’s bad, my mind says - but could it really be quite as horrid as you’re remembering? Because my mind literally is incapable of holding the enormity of the atrocities, it inherently wants to find another way to look at things, to look at some small bright side that takes the edge off of the injustice in me living the fairly decent life I live while… while that place exists.

And it’s never long before I get some new punch to the face reminding me that no, it really is hell on Earth. I recently read about a refugee whose entire family took years to even be capable of thinking bad thoughts about their “Dear Leaders” with any duration. They believed he could read their minds, even when they were hundreds of miles out of the country, and thought he would find them. Not figuratively, literally.

It is the most evil place on Earth, and I…

Anyway, Huckabee.

Words are too good for him. If he was half the Christian he claimed to be, he’d get down on his knees and beg forgiveness for an hour for…

I cannot finish my words, I am too angry to articulate well. Ugh.

I guess I should post this here. Test the cross post in the new setup.

…how do you silence a foot in the mouth?

Huck’s conflating voting and terrorism here, as if they require the same level of anxiety. Is he suggesting that anyone who might vote for a liberal is a terrorist?

Oh no, if he was just dumb, I wouldn’t care so much. Huckabee knows exactly how nonsense what he said is, but he’s not afraid to use it as meaningless hyperbole. I know my motto for dealing with Republicans is often “don’t attribute malice where stupidity suffices” but Huckabee is not a dumb man by any means.

Once again, when the RW should be trying to talk some sense into their base in order to produce a general election candidate that would have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the presidency, they’re still screaming demonstrable nonsense. They may have a decent year this year, but it’ll be nothing more than a death rattle.
