Conservatives have been flogging the Dred Scott decision for the last 30 years as some sort of shibboleth amongst themselves. They neither understand (or know) history, they have no grasp of context, nor do they understand the Constitution or how government operates. This is what generations of antipathy to education, intellectualism, and government gets you- uneducated, unenlightened leadership of a vocal minority of similarly uneducated, unenlightened desperate to return to some false remembered, mystical Brigadoon of an era where everyone was happy and at peace (as long as you were a white, well-off, Christian male). This is what happens when a mass psychosis begins to lift, and reality begins slapping them around the face and head, and they grasp at anything to maintain their alternate reality. Huckabee should really just change his name to Huckster and be done with it.
