Gestapo much?
Sort of makes you wonder what exactly “freedom” means in our common parlance. (“Proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free”, to cite one popular patriotic song.) Freedom from abusive and unjust treatment by police might seem to be pretty fundamental.
It seems that the only thing holding these police departments accountable is self-media. As more and more people videotape and film these arrests that take place, along with body-cam footage, legal authorities will the ammunition to reform these departments of these unjust policies like the one in Ville Platte. Sadly, though, it will take a do-nothing official like Jeff Sessions to undo any reform, simply because it was from the Obama Administration.
All the more reason to vote this November…

Filming is not legal, according to these folk.
This is the exact place “brownshirts” are recruited from. They already got the beating training, saves the taxpayer some funding.

Doesn’t it just warm the cockles of your heart to find out that our wonderful, exceptional nation is so freedom loving? The biggest con ever run on our country is run by us.
Pro Publica is doing excellent work nowadays.
You know, the fact that this country has to suffer through repeated - and often protracted - bouts of conservative rule, whether legislative, executive, or both, is a goddamned shame. In fact, it’s a curse. A plauge.
Every time something starts to get fixed (not all things, just somethings), oops, out go the Dems. And this time is the worst yet.
Nov. can’t come soon enough.
