Discussion: How The Confederate Flag Could Strangle The GOP's Plans To Win The Budget Battle

This is the classic dissection of the stupidity of the No Party co-authored by Ornstein in 2012.

Please remind me: who was it that won the Civil War?

Because I must have misremembered my history.

He was not a Liberal Plant. Mike Huckabee sent Roofā€™s group a rousing speech for skin heads. And the rest of what you said has a certain understated degree of Stupidity.

Got to disagree there. 26 people, mostly children, killed at a school in a well-off area. And still nothing.

A good chunk of Congress dies in a massacre, maybe. But not regular, unimportant people.

And then there was a time the Senate rejected a proposal for a UN version of ADA, even though Bob Dole, frail and in a wheelchair, came to the Senate to advocate for it. The tea bags hate the UN more than they love a GOP stalwart. But each one loves himself more than anything else.

Stop for a moment and imagine what would happen if Trump were to wear a Traitor Flag pin to the first debate.

Oh, the chaos that would ensue.

**The piece of cloth the white men in South Carolina was more important than healthcare, infrastructure, food*and other things needed to live. After the Civil War there were few men left over to rebuild the South so it was left to the Women. That war crushed the very soul white men so they have been fighting to win it since it ended.by worshiping the piece of cloth. This flag/piece of cloth was NEVER a flag of South Carolina. Iā€™m going to just say it ā€œmost old white men-Republicans are dying out and the ones left are stupid to worship a piece of cloth over economic developmentā€. The upside to the loss of the war is Women were put on Pedestals. But there may be another point of view. Actually there was one Old White Men who can take a bow for the length of time the flag was flown (Glenn McConnell). He actually had it written in S.C. Code of laws.

And crazier too. Do you know who the craziest person at the Tea Party (Alice in Wonderland), it was the Mad Hatter and the RepugTea Party constantly emulates him.

Republicans govern? LOL.

Their plan was to strengthen their position in the budget standoff by passing a series of conservative spending bills to show that they could govern and to put negotiating pressure on Obama and Democrats in the budget process.

This is where their plan went off the rails.

Iā€™m against the death penalty anyway, so Iā€™m not exactly unbiased in what I say here. I wonder if a life sentence forced to be constantly reminded of just how his actions have backfired on him and harmed his cause might not be the best punishment.

JuvenileTeaLinquents led by JohnBoehner?

What could possibly go right?

The Republicans have certainly demonstrated how well they could govern, if they were in power. They would make the 3 stooges look like serious drama. The idiots who elect Republicans to Congress will very likely never learn anything from this. It takes a certain minimum IQ to learn something.

ā€œā€¦it means is he has to accommodate people he would really rather not accommodate.ā€

As the GOP are all such ardent followers of the Bible, surely they know of this God-given promise:

Ye shall reap what you sow.

Years ago scientists, at I believe UF or UGA, came up with a great solution to the problem of erosion in the clay hills of north Georgia. Their solution was heralded as a great breakthrough at the time. Now that solution, kudzu, has slowly taken over, obscured the landscape, killed all kinds of native species, and buried builldings all over the south. To me, the tea partiers are the kudzu of the GOP.

Oh, please, please, no one tell Trump about this!! He is such an idiot he would most certainly wear that flag.

I get what youā€™re talking about as far as BS neutrality and ā€œfair and balancedā€ crap reporting that has done so much harm in so many ways. But I take a bit of issue with throwing that out against this.

As an individual I agree Dylan Roof is guilty as hell. In fact in my last comment on this thread I talked about punishment as if he had already been found guilty by a jury. However, he hasnā€™t been found guilty as by a jury yet.

As painful as it is for me to say this, if we are going to say we believe in innocent until proven guilty by a jury of peers then I believe we have to do it in all situations, even when thereā€™s an admission of guilt and the evidence seems overwhelming. For that reason, I donā€™t believe we should fault Ms. Sneed for saying he allegedly killed nine people.
