Discussion for article #225997
Saying that these people are flipping the race baiting
script is giving these two losers power that they donât have.
Frankly, they are embarrassing and donât seem to understand
how voting works.
The right has always done this. Its nothing new. You knowâ because calling them out for racism in their book is race baiting.
Yeah, get back to me when they successfully flip the script. These dipshits are just buying their own snake oil.
(Not that I donât 100% support both Cochran and McDaniel. Kick his bony old ass, Chris! Kill him, Thad!)
Itâs simply an incorrect use of the term. Race baiting means one thing: Using racist imagery and allusions to racial stereotypes to harass or intimidate a member or members of a minority the imagery/stereotypes refer to.
It doesnât mean merely accuse someone of racially motivated or otherwise racist behavior.
Flipping the terminology of race like this is a sure sing that the person is at his or her core a racist. When a racist tries to flip the term, they are signifying to their compatriots and circling the wagons to protect their real or perceived race privilege.
People who really believe in redressing the effects of real racism need to blow the racistsâ door off with this correct usage every time a racist tries to get away with flipping the terminology.
The only way the tea baggers could âflip the scriptâ on this issue is with the help of journalist who practice equivalency journalism. If a politician lies, then the politician and his lie should be the story, not simply providing a platform of dissemination for the the lie.
Itâs been reported that Gingrich bought the tactics of Saul Alinsky to the RNC. Among them is accusing oneâs opponent of precisely what they themselves are doing.
Republicans do this as a matter of course, even to the point of accusing Democrats of using the Alinsky playbook they themselves are using when they level that accusation. Playing the race card is no different.
It means, in short, and in its most classic form, accusing a white candidate of being a ân****r-loverâ (actual term used in actual political campaigns in our nationâs sad and dark political history). Which would be, of course, exactly what McDaniel is doing here, accusing Cochran of siding with black people against white people (the paranoid fantasy at the heart of the race-baiting strategy).
âSuccessfullyâ is a relative term. This is mostly for the benefit of giving cover to their racist base, and providing them with talking points to justify their racist attitudes with others. And some conservative-leaning whites might be swayed by it too.
But I donât think theyâre out to convince the very people theyâve blamed as the cause of the white manâs problems, or anyone who has enough wits to see whatâs going on for what it is, which, granted, doesnât take much in the wits department.
If âflipping the scriptâ is confirming what most of us already knew, then⌠ok.
Does it matter? These extremists will believe anything fed to them, no matter what verbal games are being played.
Thatâs what I thought when I read this. The right wing has been accusing Democrats of âplaying the race cardâ for as long as I can remember.
And that means talking about race in any way, for any reason. Thereâs this slimily sanctimonious pretense that anyone whoâs even aware of race is a racist.
Yes, unless someone can point out an actual case where someone was stupid enough to fall for thisâŚthis article is silly.
Whatâs next? An article about how Obama was actually the cause of 9/11? You know that some of these jackasses are saying it. So I guess they âflipped the scriptâ.
This is a partially race motivated politician duking it out with a an extremely race motivated candidate.
Politician A just beat candidate B in their racially motivated feud.
Apparently, race-baiting is a plus and a minus at the same time depending on how you phrase it to the supposedly unable to realize that they are being used as pawns, black race in question.
What this really proves is that the black community has much more political power than theyâve been led to believe. That is the script flip and whitey had best be afraid, very afraid.
Like every damned thing with GOTPers, what matters is who is using it, not how itâs used.
The stenographer corp disagrees with your assessment.
ProjectionâŚitâs the conservative way!
McDaniel is repeating the Cheney âlogicâ on torture: itâs not what I did that was the problem, but your talking about what I did is inexcusable!
This is their typical technique just throw wild accusations that donât make sense and see what sticks.
Fortunately weâve got a compliant media that helps them spread it around. More places to find purchase, then.
