Discussion: How Many Times Did Trump Interrupt Clinton? Count 'Em! (VIDEO)

Trump lacks the stamina to listen, every interruption a choke.

Without his usual crowd of loud-mouthed rednecks that usually infest his rally, Donnie looked like a deer in the headlights that got run over by the Hillary Express…

I’m honestly surprised that the number of interruptions was so low because he seemed to be interrupting her every single time she spoke, often multiple times in a single sentence.

Am guessing that Donnie never got very good marks in “plays well with others”…

Vox put the count at a combined 40 times between Trumpo and Holt. I don’t know how many times Lauer interrupted her, but (at the expense of sounding parochial), I find it difficult to believe that for even women who don’t like Hillary, this hasn’t gone unnoticed.

He lied about the loan his father gave him, his company bankruptcies, his endorsements, stop and frisk, birtherism, New York, Michigan and Ohio, and Palm Beach, the federal reserve, her child care plan, her tax plan, China devaluing its currency, this country’s nuclear arsenal, ISIS, he lied about calling women pigs, dogs and slobs. But he thinks he won the debate.

@spencersmom I fed my dogs salmon-based foods, not nearly as smelly as HO’s diet, and they were sweet little turds that went into compostable bag. His turds, who knows where they go. :pizza: :hamburger: :spaghetti: :fries: :poultry_leg: :cake:

Donald Trump clearly demonstrated that he is Mr. Piggy. I’ll throw in that he is a dog, a fat slob, and a disgusting animal.

I would never consider HO in the same class as a dog. More like the stuff I pick up in the little baggie when I take our dog for a walk.

I can’t imagine him being able to converse with other world leaders. Talk over, bluster, brag, and maybe belittle (though he tends to do that after the fact/behind the person’s back), but not converse which includes listening and responding appropriately.

Nor can I imagine him having the patience - or attention span - to sit through multi-party/country diplomatic negotiations, where he is not the central topic.

Then again we are talking about the petulant performance of a man who has so little respect and understanding of the seriousness of the office for which he is running, that he proposed to NBC that if he ran for president and won, they should keep doing the show… from the White House. Because you know all that spare time…

This speaks to something bigger. The definition of “leader” as is pertains to the right wing in this country. Over the weekend of bliss in the Catskills I just spent, cut off from the world, since I’m a politics junkie, I needed my fix. One of the people staying with us, is a true definition of an American hero. He is two weeks away from an honorable discharge as a Major in the US Army. A tank commander. 4 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq respectively. So, we began talking about the election. He’s actually for Gary Johnson, but did say if the choice was between only Hillary or Trump, he would vote for Trump every time for one reason and one reason only–Trump is a leader. This made me shudder. So, we began discussing the definition of a leader. He said, and the other republicans there, of which there were many, again, I grew up around them, they all, to a person, including our tank commander, said Dubya was/is a better leader than Obama. And, the thing that troubled me about their comment was “even if the decision is wrong, it has to be decisive! Obama doesn’t do that! He likes to talk things out! Bush did!” It was wholly disheartening.

So, I wouldn’t doubt it, Blue, if interrupting “that woman” is, indeed, seen as a leadership quality, by the right.

This highlights how well she really did last night I think. She was unflappable, composed and not so nervous, anxious or out of control that she couldn’t just sit back, comfortable and confident in her own skin, to let him just go off on his barbaric rambling escapades. It was precisely what she had to do. And the cherry on top was that she controlled her bad habit of smirking, which she has a tendency to do when an opponent is attacking or just getting the facts wrong.

I couldn’t help thinking of how you bring in a big fish once it takes your bait, gets hooked and is too strong and too long for the fight to bring in quite yet…you just let the fucker run and freak so it tires itself out and is easier to land (I think it’s called “playing the fish” but I’m not sure).

Should have asked your tank commander if dying for some one’s mistake is still a noble cause.

The Charge Of The Light Brigade

by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Memorializing Events in the Battle of Balaclava, October 25, 1854
Written 1854

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
‘Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns’ he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

‘Forward, the Light Brigade!’
Was there a man dismay’d ?
Not tho’ the soldier knew
Some one had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley’d & thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash’d all their sabres bare,
Flash’d as they turn’d in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder’d:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro’ the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel’d from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter’d & sunder’d.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro’ the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder’d.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

In return, Clinton either fought back against Trump's comments or relented and smiled until Trump either said his piece or was instructed by debate moderator Lester Holt to let her finish.

“or was instructed by debate moderator Lester Holt to let her finish STFU”

If only.

That is a depressing world view. Decisiveness ala interruptions and attempts to dominate = Leadership. Results don’t matter, apparently (given the preference of Bush over Obama), just a particular style. Doesn’t that rather take the ‘lead’ out of the word Leadership if leading to better results or leading anywhere doesn’t matter - just seeming decisive matters? How depressing.

Now This News counted 34 interruptions from Trump throughout the debate and Vox counted 51. The interruptions ranged from short bursts of “no!” and “wrong!” to full-fledged monologues shouted over Clinton.

And that doesn’t even include all of the times that Chiselin’ Trump interrupted the moderator, Lester Holt.

That explains Melania shopping for new husbands on Billionaire.com only 1/2 hour into last night’s debate…

As one wag tweeted—“I see Hillary came dressed in the blood of men who underestimated her.”

She beat HO like a rented mule, and then did it again without batting an eyelash.

The interruptions were really bad for him, though I think Hillary’s jabs helped to work him up so he couldn’t control himself. In general I don’t think enough credit is being given to Hillary for what she did. I was happy to see Josh praising her performance. But typically the media line seems to be that she was just ordinary or adequate but Trump dug his own grave. But aside from the fact that she has a total mastery of policy–which in itself is an extraordinary accomplishment, not something simply to be taken as a given–she definitely played an important role in making him look bad.

Since boxing is the analogy people usually use for the debates think of a great defensive boxer–Floyd Mayweather, for example. When boxers go against him, they inevitably end up looking bad. Guys who are knocking everyone else out (like Canelo) look awkward and ineffectual when they fight him. Do they all just happen to have off nights? No–Mayweather makes them look inept; things they can do against other fighters don’t work with him. Same with Hillary and Trump. Without going into all the specific details, she made it impossible for him to use all the bogus strategies that worked against his Republican opponents. I thought she gave a great performance.
