Discussion: How Hillary Can Contrast With Obama In 2016: She Will 'Get S--t Done'

Well, it’s true. Hillarycare has been such a success all these years.

And we know that Dodd-Frank wasn’t passed because a prior Democratic President helped to hollow out regulation of our financial sector.

With the GOP holding the house she will be in the same boat as Obama and they hate her just as much…Good Luck to any Dem working these nuts in the GOP…

Obama Derangement Syndrome is already morphing into Hillary Derangement Syndrome. Both are symptoms of the Church of the Tea Party, the other LDS, Liberal Derangement Syndrome.

Those before didn’t promised “Change”, a break from the past, a different way of doing things, did they? So you are saying that since Obama is doing the same exact things as his predecessors, that means that his predecessors were not wrong. Well noted!

Your vocabulary word for today is “sophistry.” Use it in a sentence.

So Reagan didn’t promise to be any different than Carter and W. Bush didn’t promise to be any different than Clinton? Change is a common theme in Presidential elections. It’s not unique to Obama.

Sorry, but I could care less what some “strategist” from the Gore campaign thinks. If they knew anything at all, they would have carried Tennessee and we wouldn’t have had eight years of GWTFB.

Obama accomplished something that eluded the Democratic Party for 40 years

…but that’s none of my business

It’s a nice slogan, but what can she substantiate the claim with? Her records as Senator and SoS are rather accomplishment-free.

Hillary is going to be the least enthusiastic Dem vote I ever cast.

I would be less enthusiastic for Joe Biden. I would go into the booth saying “please don’t make me do this”

“Didn’t promised”? WTF does that even mean? Guess what, Libs, Obama, like all the presidents before him, is going to sign laws, will be challenged by the opposition, will have to defend positions in court and may even lose those challenges. He’s also going to use the restroom, breath, eat, bathe and sleep but that doesn’t somehow mean he’s just like his predecessors. The fact that you don’t understand that all/most presidents, no matter how vastly different, are going to face similar challenges is an almost toddler-like understanding of the world.

This is a laughable article. If Obama, the first elected African-American guy, could not get anything done I fail to see how the first elected WOMAN (and a Clinton, no less!) will be able to “get shit done” with the current Rightwing extremists in Washington. It will more obstructionism x 100. Nothing will get done. Of course, nothing will get done no matter who is elected as long as the extremists hold the House so I would just as soon see Clinton run and get elected. Conservative heads will explode everywhere.

Through her sheer Green Lanternistic Will power!

She’ll use her ring to blast through an intractable GOP-held House.

That’s what she can do!

She and Bill came out of the New Democratic Coalition which I believe were conservatives. The Coalition no longer exists but Bill was paid way more that he deserved for blowing up the economy with the repeal of Glass-Steagall. The pair made 100 Million since leaving office much of it speaking to the big banks. It smells of pay back. Bill is smooth talker, he would make a great used car salesman. He gutted welfare and the economic safe guards and the party still wants his wife to repeat the run. I won’t vote for her.

Democrats seem to keep electing conservatives to high office and then expect a progressive. Obama is way more conservative than the man who ran for office and continually has attempted to make nice with people who want him out of office or worse. If this president has problems with congress just think what another Clinton will go through.

kendy, I don’t think the D’s eat their young. As I said above, it’s generally the DC press corps - and their corporate overlords (am I sounding like a far lefty?) - who run this story, true or not. Almost always not.

Thank you!!!

actually it was since Truman, 60+ years

Amen to that. A Gore spokesperson is the last person I would listen to. The same Al Gore that barely squeaked by because he ran away from Clinton’s successful 8 years and picked Joe Lieberman of his VP

The man who ran for office constantly vowed to accomplish things by working with Republicans. That sounds like a moderate to me and it’s not his fault that many on the left heard what they wanted him to say and not what he was actually saying.

You know nothing about Obama to make that statement. There is no doubt Obama personally is a liberal and progressive - but he was forced to govern the way he did after taking over an economy in shambles that happened two months before he was elected and a republican party who met on January 20, 2009 plotting to try to keep him from doing anything he planned, something you whining far lefties can’t seem to remember or get through to your apparently thick skulls
