Why? Simple. FOLLOW THE MONEY.
Trump has made a deal with Fox to get back on the air, he has made a deal with Reince Preibus to tone down his rhetoric to “allow” the rest of the field to stop sticking their boots in their mouths, and I’m certain Trump Enterprises just got a massive investment from one of Koch Industries ten-layer-deep investment arms.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…”
Forget them, says Donald Trump. I just want your physicists and engineers.
You have a point. For Trump, the things he says are calibrated to have an effect, to get him what he wants, not to be consistent with a set of actual beliefs. Not clear that he has any except for his high regard for himself.
If a Nixon operative is working for Trump then that seals the deal a 4th time for me. It’s an amazing indictment of the GOP that Trump is a candidate
A lot of politicians have no real beliefs. If they do they don’t last long as a real politician.
Well in Trumps case, “soft” would not be cured by an infusion of Cialis or Viagra. He would simply get taller.
Will Trump be willing to put all his holdings in the hands of others?
Just watch as the press falls for Trump’s bait and switch. Their fall will be UUUUUUGE.
Seriously? Engineers and physicists? That’s his answer to his horrible, xenophobic prior comments about immigration? Is that supposed to convince anyone that he’s turned a corner on this issue? Perhaps he doesn’t know that we already let in engineers and physicists from other countries. And who in their right mind thinks that having dinner with Geraldo Rivera in a Mexican restaurant is anything but a cynical stunt? Frankly, the notion that these moves would be part of an effort to win over Hispanic and Latino voters is kind of insulting.
I don’t know where the guy comes up with the Ellis Island comment. All he wants are the top .01 percent.
Trump’s running out of voters. Guess he’s saving his ad buys for patronage and graft.
With the wingnuts, it’s all about pressing the right emotional buttons. It’s all about the hate. That’s what Roger Ailes has mastered.
It’s not as if Trump’s supporters know or care anything about government policy. They hate Mexicans, but they don’t even know why. They just do. Trump can say anything he wants.
I would like to see Ali Valenzuela’s data.
Trump continues to display the brain of a 12 year old. Talk first. Think later. Build the building. Go bankrupt after it is a failure. . The “very, very smart man” can’t think beyond next Tuesday.
Once again, the point is missed. America cannot function without illegal immigration.
It saves insurance because they’re not insured, it saves labor costs because they work for next to nothing, and it makes money for small businesses who daily parade the corners of this country looking for cheap labor.
You cannot get a clean plate in America without an illegal immigrant getting paid. Wake up. There will never be a solution to the illegal immigration problem because big business (the GOP) won’t pay full price for a worker.
The Dems want to make it legal to come here, and good. But there will not be a solution, only 4-year sabre-rattling nonsense and then the status quo.
He wasn’t doing interviews on Fox because he was punishing them. He wants them to see just how much he jacks up ratings when he goes on their network. I suspect he isn’t doing beating up on Kelly, and this will be part of yet another attack on her in the near future.
As for toning down his rhetoric, he is just letting rest of the field wallow in the massive dump he has left behind. But he will return to it again, probably in a new and even more extreme way to pull rest of the GOP even deeper into the swamp. He knows what brought him to the dance, and while he wants to wink at the other girls now that he is there, he hasn’t forgotten.
Bush got 44% of the Hispanic vote. McCain got 31% of the Hispanic vote. Romney got 27% of the Hispanic vote. Trump needs approximately 45% of the Hispanic vote to win the general election.
The Republican establishment knows that their presidential candidate can’t win without MORE Hispanic voters voting for him than voted for Bush, McCain or Romney.
What have Republicans done, in congress or on the campaign trail, that would make anyone believe that Hispanic voters have A GOOD REASON to vote FOR a Republican in 2016?
Trump was/is giving them A GOOD REASON to vote AGAINST all Republicans in 2016.
The answer is that he knows he has the electorate’s attention and is now pivoting to statesmanlike in order to establish and solidify his position as front runner.
I’ve been looking for this now for weeks. The short answer is Le Donald is no dummy.
I’ve seen this many times. I have not seen how much they have to juice up their white percentage to compensate. I’m sure it is not doable, but I wonder if they tank with Hispanics but run up their whitey numbers it all evens out in states like Florida and Colorado.
Sure, this tactic probably only means he wins even more votes in Kentucky and Tennessee rather than securing Florida and Colorado, but for the sake of hand-wringing I just wonder if there is a way they could pull this out without winning votes from the Hispanic community.
“Why Has Donald Trump Suddenly Gone All Soft On Immigration?”
His Teatroll Cialis is running low. Quick…someone call the wingnut racism fluffer and refill his scrip, stat!!! The Teatrolls haven’t even come yet!!!
