Discussion for article #244193
Iâm sure the fact that Bruce L. Castor (the DA who declined to prosecute) , Jr is a âfamily valuesâ Republican is just a coincidence.
Quaaludes? Hadnât heard, or thought, of disco biscuits for years.
For more settlement money, might the rapees also sue the doctor who prescribed Quaaludes for a patient who never took them for himself? That doctor has some explaining to do; plus he/she has liability insurance.
Did Cosby know the fix was in when he gave that deposition? Or was he giving those answers to hide something even worse?
Doubtful that would succeed. Did the Dr. know Cosby wasnât taking them himself? Did the Dr. know Cosby was using them as a rape-aid? The most that the Dr. could face would be the FDA or his state medical association opening a case for prescribing Quaaludes in the first place. That would be disciplinary and not criminal.
Family means âpatriarchyâ to these creeps. Is it any surprise that a âpatriarchal valuesâ conservative would give rape a pass?
Thatcher did far worse in the UK. Cameron is desperately trying to keep a lid on that scandal. The first two chairs he had appointed to the enquiry were both people who could be trusted to cover up. When he was forced to appoint a judge from overseas, he specified that the new enquiry would not report until AFTER the next general election - in 2020!
I think it is going to be really hard to prove that the lady who took the pills didnât know what she was taking. It just smells really bad. This is not to excuse Cosby from taking advantage of the situation, but when she asked for pills to relax what did she think she was going to get? She didnât sound like she was that bright to not see that something was funky, or she didnât really care that much.
This is getting progressively worse ⌠for me. If Cosby no longer performs Iâll have nowhere to wear my Hello Fiend sweater that I got for Christmas.
The broader issue is the difficulty in convicting a celebrity. In the OJ case we had âjury nullificationâ with a self-selected jury. That brings up the venues issue. Could they get an impartial jury in Phila? An older black man in our retirement community tells me with absolute conviction that Cosby is the real victim of gold-digging women.
He equates the charge with the OJ case: To him, they are both examples of rigged criminal charges against a black man.
Iâd just like to know how many homes Cosby ownsâŚJust this morning the tube mentioned residences in Philly, NYC, BostonâŚ4 counting LA. How many more?
PS-Anybody notice Cosbyâs sweater is a hoodie?
Yep. Fair point. Did Cosbyâs words seal his fate, or did the election of a Republican who apparently (so I have read) campaigned on a platform of getting Cosby? So, Cosby was a cad and a jerk, and behaved as many show business stars and producers have over the decades. I certainly wouldnât let any of my daughters anywhere near him. But, a rapist? I think I will wait until the evidence is in-- the entire sealed agreement is released and the prosecutor has to prove in court that a woman who had visited with Cosby on several occasions and went to his house, even though she says she was feeling sick, and took pills without ever asking what they were, and was âimmobilizedâ by said pills, and then settled her issues with Cosby in a private financial deal was raped. Maybe so. We shall see.
I fully expect that ALL âWe shall seeâ will be whether a jury votes unanimously to convict.
All element of this charge are in place.
A comment earlier in this thread tries to enlist the victim against herself in claiming she âaskedâ for the pills, but that doesnât work on any level:
(1) She didnât ask, he pressed.
(2) When he pressed, she DID âaskâ what they were, whereupon he lied.
(3) Then he lied again to the investigating police, saying they were Benadryl.
(4) He admitted in deposition in the civil case knowing what they were, what they actually were, what effect they had on people, and why he got them in the first place.
(5) Nothing either of them said before, during or after the incident signifies actual, informed or even tacit consent.
If he wasnât âtheâ Bill Cosby, the outcome of this case would be entirely predictable. The only real contests in the trial to come will be over the jury pool and jury selection.
If the old reprobate had been munching on some Skittles, he never would have made it in the court house door!
~I put the pills in the pudding!~ ___ Jail-O!
It doesnât matter if she said, âPlease, Bill, bring me a handful of your strongest Quaaludes! Mamaâs gettingâ fucked up tonight!â If a woman goes out drinking intending to get drunk, and sheâs sexually assaulted while unconscious thatâs still sexual assault. A person still doesnât have the right to have sexual contact with someone who is unable to consent, someone who isnât even fully conscious. Let me put it another wayâŚTwo buddies have drinks at a bar. One gets really drunk and the other lugs his buddy back to his home to sleep it off. The sober guy doesnât get to rape his buddy because his buddy purposefully got drunk and then passed out on his couch.
One of the most ironic notes here is that olâ Bill spent much of the 90âs wagging his finger at African American kids and admonishing them to ââŚpull your pants up.â and to ââŚsay no to drugs.â___ while HE couldnât keep his own damned pants up and was evidently carrying a pharmacy of tranquilizers around with him.
I hope the judge says to him: âPull your pants up!â
"Hey Ben!___You take the other end! I got this!"

Additionally, were all those prescriptions from the same doctor? Many people doctor-shop. They could very well have been refills with various dates, also. It is very difficult to prove a doctor knew the patient was not the likely medicine taker.
If he digitally-entered this woman, that is considered rape. Even if his willy never got close to her, so long as he entered her with somethingâhis fingers, a cucumber, a dildo, etc.âhe raped her.
Blame that victim.
