United Stated Constitution, Article VI, Paragraph 3:
"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; ** but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.**
Typical GOTP: They’ve never read the Constitution they like to wave about as a stage prop.

What about “everybody in the USA is NOT a Christian” don’t they get? Or are they just making laws for the Christians and the hell with the rest? Do they understand what it means to REPRESENT people – all the people of their district/state? ALL – without regard to religion, lack of religion, gender, race, color, economic status, sexual orientation – ALL means ALL. Serve means to serve ALL.
Why don’t they ask themselves the fundamental question “why am I doing this” and answer themselves honestly, before they run for office.

The pre- Council of Trent version, which was no where near as misogynistic or greed-based as what they eventually pushed out as god’s word. Of Course, King James Rev. 1 was good for a laugh, given that he had not one hebrew scholar on staff, that there were conservatively 30,000 factual and grammatical errors in Rev. 1, and that it took decades for Rev. 2 to correct all those mistakes. Then again, because the brits always thought that we were uneducated rubes on this side of the Pond (Hmm. given congress today, they were probably right) they simplified, rewrote, and changed it for export to the colonies. I won’t even begin to dive into the problems translating between Aramaic, Attic Greek, and Latin.
In Aramaic (22 letters, no vowels, no punctuation) VP Cheney’s words of “wisdumb” to a democratic senator on the senate floor would have read, ““gfkrslf.” But without the final period.

When are these people going to learn that there is no such thing as THE Holy Bible? There are dozens, and perhaps hundreds of books that go by that name, all different, and all from different sources and with different translations. There is no single book, and there is no single source.
If you’re going to talk about “God’s Word”, then you’d better be prepared to also tell me which version of the book you’re talking about, which source material it came from, and why you think that particular version of the Bible, and that version alone, constitutes “God’s Word.”
