Block grants are specifically designed to be reduced over time. This plan is terrible. It would either dramatically underfund medical care or deny coverage or create some sort of rationing for care since there would not be enough funds to fully fund care for those who need it.

That is if there is a hospital bed for you. A lot of rural hospitals may go bankrupt due to low or no reimbursements for care.

Don’t count on this not becoming law as much as you counted on Trump not winning the election.

Resistance is necessary.

I’d like to believe that, but supporters can nourish themselves with worship as much as with bread.

Hospitals will be closed. They are, after all, a business.

So, minus the individual and employer mandates, and tax credits in lieu of subsidies aren’t these bills what everybody was afraid of this whole time? There’s no way tax credits will make up for the costs of most insurance plans and their high deductibles for most people, I’d imagine. So you’d have millions back into not being able to afford insurance, the insurance industry would take a huge hit in the end, and God help you if you’ve got a pre-existing condition. Who the hell wins here?

Obamacare lite
Obamacarelite=trumpcare

OK then trumpcare it is
And it screws the elderly and the poor as poor risks healthwise. Itcauses disruption in the industry and does zilch about the cause of why health insurance is so frigging expensive. It does not address the cost of medical practice.
Example:
My knee replacement surgeon bill was $2500 which I thought fair. The hospital cost for a 2 night stay (no icu, minimal need for a nurse or pain meds as I had my own) was $67,000. And this was a procedure without any complications. A minimal cost but their standards. Good god. My insurance cut the bill in half and paid it. It makes no sense.

I scrolled through these documents and was unable to find a key point – can anyone tell me when the subsidies stop and the supposed tax credits start? Document and page reference would be handy as well… Thank you

Remember this is the same Republican Party that Franklin Roosevelt had to fool into supporting England while Hitler was planning to take over the world with the Lend Lease program. these Reactionaries never saw a step forward that didn’t make them want to take a step backward. Republicans the Party of the Brave. lol. BOO!
