Hooray!

It won’t happen because ratings a paramount. But it’s nice nonetheless.

The only appropriate reason for tRump to go on SNL is for him to finally scream at the GOP and tell them his run was all a ruse and they are all losers for wanting to vote for him.

Not to thread-jack (well, maybe a little), but I haven’t yet seen anything here on two big stories today:

House passes highway funding bill with re-authorization of Ex-Im Bank: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-passes-6-year-highway-bill-funded-for-3-years/ar-BBmSvRR?li=AA54ur

Also, the text for the Trans Pacific Partnership has been released: https://medium.com/the-trans-pacific-partnership

I certainly agree with the sentiment, but it might have looked less like a political stunt if she had done it last week, or the week before or the week before that - not when the current show is actually being produced. It’s a shame NBC put Trump on, but the “pushback” has been pretty incompetent.

But at least he’ll be classy about it.

Huger ratings!!!

It seems to me there are very serious “equal time” issues in allowing Trump to host SNL like this. It also occurs to me that this implies that Lorne Michaels wants to promote Trump. I think it is dangerous to help make Trump look “cool”. Nixon’s brief appearance on “Laugh In” in the fall of 1968 probably helped Nixon’s campaign significantly. Nixon’s defeat of Humphrey set this nation on a decidedly negative course.

In any event, this whole affair makes me question whether I’m ever going to watch SNL again. I’m probably not the only person who feels this way.

You’re not the only one. I’m definitely not watching Saturday & may quit the rest of the year as well.

Unfortunately, this likely makes NBC more steadfast concerning his appearance, because while they’d readily fold under pressure from the right, they wonn’t be seen as responding to pressure from the “left” in their incessant march to the objectives of Comcast/Disney to remake their brand into a nouveau Fox.

I’d favor a Code Pink type series of disruptions conducted by perhaps a dozen people with banners, one person at a time, throughout the hour.
