Discussion: House Postpones Coming votes, Cites Snow Storm

Discussion for article #245023

The House delays votes on sunny days, why should a blizzard be any different?
This year the House will be in session fewer days than not. How many jobs are there where the employee determines their pay and benefits and then schedules their own work days so that they hafta show up TWO days a week on an average work week (take into account they leave for 5 weeks around August in normal years)?? And they pay themselves a base salary of $174,000/yr.

As if they need a snowstorm to cancel convening Congress. They’re not fooling anybody. For the entire year the House is scheduled to be in session 111 days anyway. That’s a paltry number of days considering what we pay them and the perks they receive.

Meanwhile they do nothing when in session besides hold symbolic votes for their idiotic base and a hand full of lobbyists, who keep tabs on scoring their record. These fuckers have done less than nothing since the Republicans got the majority in Congress.

OR, the GOTP goes into session as soon as the Dems leave on Wed and overturn Obamas veto.

So they can’t show up to a basic day of work, but can always find time to criticize hard-working Federal Employees who work full-time…

Whew … I’m sure that Marco is relieved ! —

We, the people, who pay their freaking salaries, have to go to work, so why don’t they?

They don’t work as it is!! Something is wrong about these sloughs being paid buy taxpayers for not working!!
