About effing time!
What about McGahn, too??
I havenât tried ad free and might not given this oneâperfect pairing (ahem) with story
Didnât the committee already vote to hold Barr in contempt?
Looking forward to this vote, I believe, tomorrow.
âThe House Oversight Committee announced on Monday evening that it will vote to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt on WednesdayâŚâ
Pop QuizâŚ
In response, the Veruca Salt Brigade will:
- Complain the contempt citation is not sternly-worded enough.
- Claim the contempt vote they demanded â and now have â is useless.
- Find several new ways to work the phrase âDemocratic Establishment Shillâ into their TPM posts.
- Affix motorized wheels to the goalposts.
- All of the above.
Remember to show your work.
Barr was barely able to avoid one contempt vote today only to walk into another. GeeâŚalmost like thereâs a strategy or something.
This strategy of making Barr repeatedly back down has the added benefit of demonstrating his weakness to Trump. How long before we hear, âI was never a big fanâŚâ?
No last minute deal that delivers nothing but saved faces all around?
Yes, but this is the full House -I think.
ETA: The oversight committee gave them one more chance. This is not the full House.
You forgot that Nancy Pelosi is incompetent and Chuck Schumer is cluelessâŚ
They donât care on this one because the fix is already in. Thomas isnât going to give a fuck at this point that they are literally and explicitly trying to fuck minority voters. Heâs got his and thatâs all that matters, so pull up the ladder, boys!
Thereâs gonna be a lot of contempting.
Gee-Oh-Pee-ers will demand that the DOJ cannot do anything on Wednesdays .
I would say âsmall,â but okay.
I donât trust where this idea came from that Barr is some kind of deep-thought, intellectual lawyer who just loves his country so much. I donât believe it.
Itâs terrible to distrust the Attorney General. But itâs wise.
And I didnât see the phrase âslow walkâ anywhere in that, either.
georgeh hasnât signed in yet.
A slowly escalating set of actions that show the clear contempt the administration has to the rule of law? Seems like a pretty good strategy to use if you want to lay a foundation of corruption and legal actions, building up support for more intensive investigations.
Yup, this. Absolutely this. AKA the âwell, about time! / not enough! / what took so long? / sure, but what aboutâŚ?â anti-Dem while playing Dem attack playbook.
@irasdadâs 5 - all of the above, works too.
