Discussion: House Intel Chair Has 'Not Seen Evidence' Of Trump Wiretap Claim

Jiminy crickets, this is SUCH a surprise!!

And what’s this crap about “reporters [should] not take Trump’s comments literally”??? Do we need to have an interpreter now? Can’t Drumpfie speak normal English?? Does he speak in parables??

OR: Is this just another way of saying he’s lying?? And you know it full well??

No definitive evidence exists confirming Bigfoot is a real animal, alive and roaming the Pacific Northwest. Yet dozens of publications and television newscasts have covered Bigfoot. So, you know, Bigfoot potentially lives.

Nunes’s guiding principles as intel committee chair are based on two of the three monkeys; see no evil (check), hear no evil (check), speak no evil (not so much)

“A lot of the things he says, you guys take literally,”

I see. So when he says that he didn’t commit treason by colluding with the Russian government, we should understand that this is just a metaphor.

Asked if he believes Trump’s claim, Nunes suggested that reporters not take Trump’s comments literally.

“A lot of the things he says, you guys take literally,” he said, according to CNN. (CA Rep. Devin Nunes)

Yeah, we’re kinda … well … normal human in that way – when someone says something, we try to be objective and believe that they at least believe what they’re saying and ask them for evidence. Of course, when you’re dealing with a mentally-ill person (be it schizophrenia, bi-polar, dementia, etc.), it then behooves us to ask if that person should be in treatment, medicated, etc., and perhaps not in a position where they can harm themselves and others due to that illness.

So, Mr. Nunes, are you saying Mr. Trump is not to be believed … ever? Is he mentally ill? Is he a pathological liar? What? Sir, I don’t want a President that constantly lies to us. Please work to remove Mr. Trump from office, it is your constitutional duty.

I think it’s an indirect concession that Trump is effing nuts, and somehow not responsible for what he says. In which case, they should be talking 25th Amendment, but perish the thought! IOKIYAR!

I suppose it will take 3-4 years for the investigation to finish. They’ll of course need to call Obama for testimony multiple times.

Well, let’s see:

He promised a Muslim ban. We’re on take 2.

He promised a wall at the Mexican border. Funding and design is proceeding.

He promised to drain the swamp. We have the most unqualified Cabinet in recent, if not all, history.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, I am going to believe it’s a duck. No matter what alternative universe you might be in, Rep.

Huh!? So we are just supposed to just ignore his never ending stream of lies?

The investigation will be completed and the results sealed, finally to be released to the press and public in, oh, late November 2020.

Golly gee! Who thought that the sitting President of the world’s largest superpower making claims of, and doubling down on being the target of what might be one of the biggest political scandals in United States history should be taken seriously!

“I haven’t seen the evidence” seems to be a common refrain. I think it’s the polite way to say he’s lying through his teeth.

Yeah, you know how Grandpa gets at time, don’t take him seriously. He gets cranky when the prunes aren’t working and they pre-empt Matlock.

I can not remember a time when the Republican politicians were inhibited by truth.

Trump: Have the damn hearings, you buffoon. Nunes is smart enough to know that this is a Benghazi witchhunt providing me years of distraction, well into my second term.

i was gonna say the Easter Bunny, but yes.

I understand that a woman in Valdosta, Georgia spread butter on her English muffin, and it came out in the form of President Obama listening to a wiretap.

So on the one hand, he’s chairing a committee to discover the truth of the matter, but on the other hand, the truth is what he says it is and we should not trust our own eyes and ears or our own faculty of judgment.

He added, please stop asking such Literal questions about it, so we can get this to the innuendo-truthiness stage where people on Fox just refer to it as if it actually happened.
