The committee's goal is to serve notice to Bob Barr he can piss off when alleging the origins of the FBI's and intelligence community's concerns were overblown, leading to an unneeded and possibly illegal investigation and attempted coup of Trump. That's what the hearings will reveal, and that's why they're being held.Going to get real interesting when Barr and Trump start attempting to prevent witnesses Schiff calls from testifying. Especially lower level FBI and intelligence people called for no other reason than to confirm basic, noncontroversial facts and timelines.

So I bet that in addition to calling the usual directly Mueller-related suspects (ahem) they may also call some of the people responsible for securing election systems and heading off fake news this time around. To ask them how theyāre going to do better in the future.
That could be either funny or sad or both.

All would be great witnesses. There would be a palpable sense of justification for their professionalism in an era of un-professionalism.
I saw McCabe on several interviews a few months ago and, even in what was a fairly ordinary interview, one could tell that he was happy to be in a position to tell his story. He reminded me then of an older Fonzieā¦

Iāve said for weeks that we need to be calling in friendlies and get the folks in the country warmed up. Bring in Brennan, McCabe, Comey, Strzok (who had a great FBI interview with Flynn), Page etc. Theyāre all experienced in testifying and captivate the audience now that the report is out. Hope Schiff plans a list like that.
