Discussion: House GOPers Will Confront Trump About Separating Families At The Border

About time. EVERYDAY, the free press, should confront each and every Republican
Senator and Congressman possible with 5 Trump lies from the past week,
and 5 of his biggest lies since his Republican nomination and ask those
Republican officials if they are or are not lies and if they are not
lies cite FACTS as proof they are not. The bald faced lies by Republican
President Trump are eating away at the protective enamel of our
Democracy and turning the ignorant, uncaring, and/or intolerant
Trumpsters against enlightened American’s that are not. It is dangerous
and Congressional Republicans cannot be allowed to continue to silently
sit on the sidelines enabling, ignoring, or embracing the Trump lies.
It is an evasion to their sworn duty to protect and defend, it is
Un-American, and too important to continue unchecked. This last
unforgivable Trump lie, that the separation of children from their
parents is someone else’s policy or even a Democrat policy is the last
straw.

The Trump administration: Anti-abortion + pro-separation of families, anti-family + pro-family values?? Go figure.

Confront? If total silence is ‘confronting’ then look around at the massive GOP effort to stop Trump.

Their silence condemns them.

Register people to vote. A Congress with a spine and a conscience could stop most of this.

Where they shall proceed to ask him if there’s anything they can do to help?

GOP lawmakers reportedly plan to use Trump’s sensitivity to disturbing photos and negative media spin …

… but not their own power to legislate.

House GOPers Will Confront Trump About Separating Families At The Border

Right! Both of them, I imagine?

I suspect this tiny posse will consist entirely of those House members heading for the exits this November. Trump will ignore them.

Realization: If the protests can reverse this policy, Putin’s in deep do-do, because enough Russians will realize that they can thwart his policies if US citizens can thwart the policies of his puppet. Evolution - working like a charm.

I hope that some of the lawyers helping down there are willing to start civil law suits against the U.S. Government for BILLIONS of dollars.

Class-action suit.

They will have a case. And they can donate their fees to the cause.

“House GOPers, understanding that they are getting yelled at in their churches, getting killed in the polls, realizing that siding with Trump is like tying a millstone around their necks, decide their balls haven’t shriveled up at all, Will Confront Trump About Separating Families AtThe Border”
There, that’s more like it.

My mental process:

Bargaining chips?
Bargaining with whom?
OH, he’s gonna hold the children until Mexico agrees to pay for the wall!

Don’t you dare think it won’t happen.

From the article:
“However, per Axios, Trump views family
separation as a bargaining chip and is disinclined to roll back the
policy without securing a concession like his border wall in return.”
…
Child abuse as a bargaining chip.
I would call that a new low for the “King of deal makers”
Anyone with any humanity would now oppose any wall legislation even to the cost of their job in Congress. But then GOPers recently have lost their last shred of decency and humanity by cowering before trump and kissing his ‘Godfather’ ring. Why not just shed their covers and reveal their alien lizard people selves? trump is a front for the Mafia and has been for decades.
edit to add…
I am wondering when the deportations of American Citizens who disagree with trump will begin.

This cartoon deftly shows something that nobody is talking about.

It’s a WARNING sign. CAUTION!!!

Trump et al never gave a warning sign to Mexicans trying to come in illegally. He COULD have made everyone in the world aware of their new zero-tolerance policy. Instead, he waited, in the dark, like a goddamned child-snatcher for them to bring their kids over the border.

And let’s not forget. We call it “our border.” In reality it’s a border we both share. At least SOME of these families are leaving for asylum from drug warlords.

And the topper: 81% OF MEXICAN ADULTS ARE CATHOLIC

The evangelicals are all over Trump, supporting the hell out of this policy. Some see this as blatant racism.

What if it’s religious bigotry as well?

But the baseline point here is, Trump is separating CHRISTIAN children from their families

A picture tells a thousand words.

Evangelicals see people of color as non-Christian. When years ago I lived in southern Mexico I had occasion to meet a young evangelical who was on fire to convert “the Heathen Mexicans”. I pointed out to him that Mexico has has a long and sometimes rocky 500 year+ relationship with The Church. Oh and by the way, young man, there is a Pentecostal Evangelical church 4 doors from this very hotel lobby. If you wander outside you can hear the “speaking in tongues” that’s going on.
The young man was chagrined to learn all of this.

Making a deal/building a wall on top of the suffering of children: Something very Trumpian about that.

As I said yesterday my dog and three cats live better than those children.

There is no moral. legal, or ethical defense for this. None.
Mike drop.
And how does a baby deal with a bag of chips for dinner?

Yep. But Evangelicals don’t view Catholics as Christians.

They deem it a failure that 81% of Mexico is Catholic, as much as if they were satanists.

And the SOB personally torpedoed actual bipartisan legislation to fix DACA how many times?

But that was last year, and his memory event horizon seems to be about three minutes these days.

Some of them actually consider us Papishers to be satanists. You know, because Rome and Revelation and the Great Beast and all that.
