And then on the night of his first address to the senate/house this comes about…
The former British spy who authored a controversial dossier on behalf of Donald Trump’s political opponents alleging ties between Trump and Russia reached an agreement with the FBI a few weeks before the election for the bureau to pay him to continue his work, according to several people familiar with the arrangement.
The agreement to compensate former MI6 agent Christopher Steele came as U.S. intelligence agencies reached a consensus that the Russians had interfered in the presidential election by orchestrating hacks of Democratic Party email accounts.
Interesting story. Doesn’t the arrangement falling apart actually suggest they didn’t view the work as credible in the end?
Let’s keep banging on the head of this nail! Even it the resolution(s) has to be introduced several times. The more votes you collect will be saved for the midterm elections! We can show them better than telling the crazies!
Agreed. Meanwhile, there’s this: “The GOP are hiding something. They’re covering up for Trump.” It’s true and we have every reason to remind the public of this.
There are no House “Republicans” they are now and forever onward the “Party of Trump”. Let them wear that badge of shame in 2018.
I’m very much in agreement with that statement. They are the party of Trump. Supporters of Trump. Enablers of Trump.
Hypocrisy like the Republicans get away with, can only exist with a complicit media.
No, as is plain from the linked article which you apparently did not read. Next question?
In that article it is not mentioned that Steele first started working for a GOP candidate. The authors only deal with the Dems history of working with Steele but I’m almost positive that it was initially reported that he was hired by a GOP opposition research team. Am I wrong in believing that? Is it wrong that I’m smiling over the fact that the FBI found Steele’s dossier to be so credible that they hired him to keep on investigating? That’s some serious smoke right there!
You’re not wrong.
The story began in September 2015, when a wealthy Republican donor who strongly opposed Mr. Trump put up the money to hire a Washington research firm run by former journalists, Fusion GPS, to compile a dossier about the real estate magnate’s past scandals and weaknesses, according to a person familiar with the effort. The person described the opposition research work on condition of anonymity, citing the volatile nature of the story and the likelihood of future legal disputes. The identity of the donor is unclear.

That’s the reason for plowing!
