Clearly, somebody didnā€™t get the messaging memo and decided to just go with his actual thoughts and opinion.

Heā€™s been ā€œthe voice of reasonā€ before, but has always had to walk most of it back. We will see how long it takes.

The Teabaggers in Congress bitched and whined that the Pres needed to get their approval before doing anything. So he does!

Poor little Teabaggers, hatinā€™ life! Pres Obama has them by their tiny, little, wrinkled teabags.

Holy Carp. Whoā€™s he going to have to apologize for THAT?

Obviously he was misquoted and the words he did actually use were used out of context.

See? These are the kinds of radical-liberals-socialists we have in the Republican Party and we need to get rid of ALL of them! Supporting Your Country and Your President, rather than YOUR PARTY is ā€¦ well ā€¦ itā€™s TREASON!!

The GOP wanted their message to be that the President is bypassing Congress; that was their talking point, and likely still will beā€¦trouble is, President Obama made it abundantly clear yesterday that he wonā€™t be bypassing the Congress in any way. So now the ball is in Congressā€™ court, and reallyā€¦the GOP doesnā€™t want to deal with pesky things like ā€˜actuallyā€™ voting on issues of war and peace; they never did want thatā€¦they just wanted to bitch about it and complain that the President is acting like an omnipotent ruler that ā€œlikes to lead from behind.ā€

In the end, the GOP will undoubtedly find a way to abdicate their responsibility, as they have all along with all their other responsibilities. It divides their caucus of rightwing nutjobs with their caucus of extreme rightwing nutjobs. So donā€™t expect much from them, especially before any upcoming election. Except for a small minority of warhawks, neocons, and blabbermouthsā€¦I canā€™t see Republicans owning this.

Having to provide a solution to a difficult problem has never been their forteā€™ anyway.

Itā€™s so frustrating listening to these peopleā€¦ commonsense should tell you ā€“ there is no one to arm and train in Syria that can fight both ISIL and the Syrian governments military at the same fuckinā€™ time.

Take a picture, a repug with common sense and civility? It wonā€™t last long.

Yep !

This guy is consistent and reasonable. He understands how politics should work.

He won;t apologize. This guy has been consistent. Heā€™s one of the ā€œreasonableā€ folks who knows how politics is supposed to work

This guy is very consistent because heā€™s an old timer and knows how politics is supposed to work and doesnā€™t really give a shit about the other idiots in his party

Somebody doesnā€™t know much about the Koch brothersā€¦The Cato Institute is hardly a shoot first, ask questions later institution.

How much longer are Tom Coleā€™s constituents going to put up with these periodic brazenly sane statements he keeps making?
