They still don’t get it. The establishment seems to think their base will consolidate automatically behind the one remaining anti-Trump candidate. I’m not so sure. I think Trump gets his portion of those voters and retains his lead. His victory in Nevada was jaw-dropping and really highlighted the weakness of Cruz/Rubio.

I’m always amused when Republicans have to come out and say publicly what everyone has been screaming at them for Months…
Either Rubio and Cruz are so ensconced in their fantasy bubble that they don’t see the inevitable disaster unfolding in real time around them, and this letter is unlikely to do what all the media attention and pundits saying this same things for weeks could not…
Or their both convinced that the other is going to drop out leaving the lane open for them to make a late sprint past Trump as the party consolidates, and this letter is unlikely to do what all the media attention and pundits saying the same things for weeks could not…
If either of these guys had the combination of political intelligence and care for the greater party over their own interests to make this decision, they would have already done it.
Meanwhile, between this and the ludicrous naked obstructionism of the Senate, Hillary Clinton’s greatest challenge is going to be making it through Super Tuesday without answering every media question with girlish giggles…
