Next time he tries that, Nancy ought to grab that gavel and give him a knock on the noggin.

Mr. Whip Scalise apparently doesn’t know how to count votes yet.

Why should we be surprised? Republicans hate government, so it should stand to reason that they can’t govern.

So Steve Sclaise (R-Nazi Whisperer) failed to count the votes in his first big job in the new Congress. I wonder if he figured he had those six votes from a few members of the CBC?

This is something a sane media would do on a regular basis. Sigh.

"“Do we represent all Americans or just the wealthy and well-connected who would benefit from this legislation?”

This question was answered when we stupidly elected Reagan and the Bush crime family.

That is one of the most wonderful pictures of all time! Her body language says it all.

“…Do we represent all Americans or just the wealthy and well-connected…”

Until we get campaign finance reform, you represent legal entities called corporations. We need to get money out of politics. We need to elect representatives who don’t work to legalize graft.

krauthammer missed it. According to Limbaugh the repubs were elected to do exactly nothing. This is from Limbaugh’s radio show the day after the election:

“It is to stop Barack Obama. It is to stop the Democrats,” Limbaugh
said on his show Wednesday about Republicans’ agenda. “There is no
other reason why Republicans were elected yesterday. Republicans were not
elected to govern.”

“How can you govern with a president that is demonstrably lawless when
he thinks he has to be?” Limbaugh continued. “The Republican Party
was not elected to fix a broken system or to make it work. The Republican Party
was not elected to compromise. The Republican Party was not elected to sit down
and work together with the Democrats.”

She should have grabbed that fucking croquet mallet and whacked him in the balls… Haha…No offense intended.

What difference does it make anyway? The Bill would have to go through the Senate, whereupon a D Senator would do a secret filibuster like the R’s have done, right?

Oh, yeah, I forgot, the Dems are wusses, and will not exact a single retribution for all the harm the rethugs have done to our country.

Is stuff like this a result of the “anti-Washington sentiment”?

Many of the people with experience at things like, you know, actually governing or passing bills lost in recent elections. But it seems the new people who are there spend very little time trying to actually understand the place because otherwise they don’t want to look like insiders.

so the man who didn’t know he was speaking to white supremacists doesn’t know how to count votes, either.

Why is it that Dems get more done in the minority.
