Discussion: House GOP Offers 1-Week Stopgap Funding Measure To Avoid Shutdown

So this is the Trump/GOP era? We’re going to fund the Federal Government a week at a time?

Imbeciles.

Not even 100 day in and I’m already tired of all the winning.

Or the Secret Service is thinking:

It’s a good idea once in a while for the GOP to be in charge, just to remind people what a bad idea it is.

For Republicans I thought shutting down the government is a good thing.
I mean, haven’t they been saying it doesnt work anyway?

Wow! I’ll admit I was surprised to hear that Democrats had taken over the insurance companies! When did THAT happen?

That Donald, he’s just on top of everything, especially at 4:30 in the morning.

I think where Trump is going with that, is he doesn’t realize that Puerto Rico is American, and thinks its a foreign country instead.

Got Whiplash?

Keep the eyes on the prize:

—North Korean shenanigans. tRump is turning this in to a viable threat.
—Russian interference in the Nov. election. Who knew what and committed treason when…

The guy that was rage-tweeting this morning (as the bureaucracy he’s in charge of is essentially a house burning down) is holding a campaign rally this weekend. There are still people that will actually spend part of their weekend to drive somewhere and listen to this maniac speak.

It’s mind-blowing.

Most of his utterances are empty. They roil around in his failing brain for hours and then he tweets directly from his subconscious. It’s useless to try to analyze the vomitus for meaning. It’s like inspecting a hairball and constructing a theory of your cat’s deepest thoughts.

But that doesn’t stop the pundits (and his loyal base) from layering it with complexity and nuance that Donnie himself would never understand. The media still gives the ignoramus a huge assist every time he blurts out incoherent gibberish. What i don’t get is — why do they do it?

Actually, the “withdrawing from NAFTA” snipe hunt worked out very well, considering it was only meant for domestic consumption…specifically, for the press.

They ran with these red herrings on the WH “thinking about” all sorts of issues, and reported all of them faithfully, giving the impression that the WH was a flurry of activity. None of it was true, and as they walk back each item, they now get to bang that media over the head for reporting on fake news. A win/win from the WH perspective.

I dispute that the ball is the Trump/Russia connection. I would rather say it is a part of the game, but not the whole game.

That said, E.J. Dione on Trump successfully obscuring the Russia/Trump/Election connections: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trumps-greatest-single-achievement-almost-never-gets-mentioned/2017/04/26/6465447e-2aab-11e7-b605-33413c691853_story.html

I know. As if they haven’t heard every self-aggrandizing, Hillary-bashing, bullshit bumper-sticker slogan dribble from his anus mouth a million times already. They’re like people who watch old TV reruns over and over because they already know the words.

Trump gets rolled in every actual negotiation he attempts. But he consistently plays the media–the one group (other than low information voter) that still falls for his bullshit.

Like Maddow says, “Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.”

We already know that the president and most of those surrounding him lie without regret or compunction. They flip-flop by the week, the day, the hour. Nothing they say is reliable.

I wish the media would just back off and report on WH/Republican actions, instead of trying to use their words to understand what’s going on.

I’m just happy it wasn’t a one day CR…with these incompetents, anything is possible.
