Discussion: House GOP Defiant Against Funding Homeland Security Without Immigration Restrictions

Discussion for article #233706

Here it is - the result of letting the unwilling and incapable govern.

The Party of No suddenly has to do some work. It’s only going to get worse.

He was drunk, thought he saw his favorite hooker in the crowd, the one he picks up after the saloons close, blew her a kiss.

Good. Let’s get the Republicans’ behavior on full display now that they no longer have someone else to blame (other than Obama of course).

“But I think most Americans — even if there was a partial slowdown of
DHS, they’ll wake up the next morning and not notice a difference at all
in their lives.”

Except for those Americans working at DHS, without pay, who can’t make the next month’s mortgage payment. They. will. notice.

It’s a good way to discourage high quality people from working in these jobs, too.

No wurries. They can just borrow it from their parents.

Boehner looked drunk with throwing kisses, and looked like a clown too. No wonder they call the GOP presidential field the clown car.

If the orange man is right and his speakership is not at stake he can broaden his options by working with the Dems to pass a clean bill.

Boehner needs to take charge of the Tea Partiers. One way to do that is to slap them down by reaching across the isle. Right now the Tea Partiers don’t have any real reason to move. They will the moment the realize they aren’t needed.

The Battle of the Republic!

Senate RepubliCANTs vs House RepubliCANTs

Let the bloody battle begin!!!

He who governs least, governs best

That myth is

Right, Mr. Boner, it’s the Democrats who are using DHS funding as a hostage. It’s they added language to the bill to stop an executive action.

The GOP clearly thinks they need a hostage to get a bill passed to stop Obama. Because if they didn’t think they needed a hostage, they’d just pass an immigration bill that prevents Obama from doing what he’s doing.

“We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing. – Mother Theresa”

While we, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing nothing for the grateful. We have done so little, with so much, for so long, we are now qualified to do nothing, with everything.

And what happens if there’s a terrorist attack while the GOP is playing politics with law enforcement and security? That could be it for the party for a long time.

I always thought creating the DHS was a dumb idea and it’s essentially a paramilitary organization that’s largely unnecessary, but we’ve now built a big part of our national defense on it. Just turning it off for a few weeks, is reckless.

Boehner knows where this will end. That’s why he was drunk before noon, rather than waiting until 2 PM. The House will pass the clean bill from the Senate some time before monday morning.

This is one of the result of not voting and this is the mindset of the 20% of the 31% that did voted.
“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
Martin Luther King

This is what the GOP said they would do if elected. Why are we surprised and talking about this?

“We’ll probably ping something back…”

It’s that same lax Republican attitude toward defense that got us into the mess whereby they had to create a Department of Homeland Security they’re now fine with shutting down.

Here’s what they don’t “get” yet. Your representative in Congress, and mine, is now directly and personally responsible for the safety and well-being of every American victim of a possible terrorist attack.

Fund the department, and stop “pinging” on the taxpayer’s dollar!

What did the Republicans do about immigration between 2001 and 2007, when they controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress?
