Discussion: House GOP Claims It Will Revive Zombie Obamacare Repeal Bill

They went back to their adding machines and realized that there is no other group that they can steal enough from in order to give money to their corporate masters. I wish Ryan would be hit by a car and spend the rest of the year laid up in the hospital. I don’t care any more. He is that evil.

“Obamacare is a collapsing law.”

“And we in the GOP should know, since we are the ones who have spent 7 years doing everything we can to collapse it,” Ryan added.

O sure, go ahead. We’ll push back just like we did the first time, Paulie, harder.

“This is something the American people – we have to get this burden of Obamacare off their backs. So ultimately we’re not willing to hang it up. We’ve got to keep fighting.”

I see these guys have recovered from all of the town halls and have been engaging in a circle jerk since Saturday. This is what money in politics does. They have all gotten messages from the mega donors and the message was clear - we want our tax breaks and we want them now. And they will throw themselves on that sword for the 1% - they have shown it time and time again.

The Democrats need to start making some decisions. The only thing that has stopped these assholes so far is the American people they are so fond of pretending they speak for. We need some strong ass leaders and we need them now, not a bunch of mealy mouthed corporate centrists trying to pick their way through a sound bite.

It’s all about the $$. That and perhaps Ryan is masochistic and desires to take another beating.

You realize that Freedom Caucus got a huge boost and a huge kick out of pissing off Trump and pissing on you, Paul?

Being told the country will be finally rid of the scourge of Obamacare has become like a damn favorite bedtime story the childish GOP voters demand to hear over and over again. And the leadership has figured it out so that’s their “messaging” now—we’ll absolutely do this vital thing! (Eventually.)

They’re getting hammered …

This is just ’ smoke and mirrors ’ to try and get the base off their ass —

The irony, of course, is that one of the main mechanisms for “fixing” Obamacare and keeping premiums down (the “risk corridor” smoothing mechanism to assist insurers if faced with higher-than-expected risk pools in certain areas) – a mechanism that Republicans have refused to fund under the ACA – was included in their own abomination of a bill, at a greater cost.

So, quite literally, Ryan and the other GOPigs are willing to spend tens or hundreds of billions of dollars more to pay insurers NOT to insure people than they are willing to spend to have those same people insured.

Fuck this guy, and fuck his vile, evil lies.

Paul Ryan keeps claiming Obamacare is collapsing, but the only thing actually collapsing is him.

From January 16, 2017:
The president-elect insisted that his plan for replacing the Affordable Healthcare Act is all but finished, and added that care would have “lower numbers, much lower deductibles.” He went as far to say that he’s ready to reveal it alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan.

“It’s very much formulated down to the final strokes. We haven’t put it in quite yet, but we’re going to be doing it soon,” Trump said during the interview with the paper.

Um, I’ve been pretty critical of the Democratic leadership here, but I try to stay responsive to the facts. Schumer and co. played their part in defeating the AHA. And, having participated personally in multiple virtual and physical activist groups on this issue, I could not help observing that the large majority of the people doing the townhall stuff and the phoning and the coordinating were people who backed Clinton, the alleged corporatist in chief. Just saying. Let’s stay indivisible on this.

So, 6% approval of their bill wasn’t low enough for them?
