Discussion: House Freedom Caucus Officially Backs New Obamacare Repeal Amendment

Fine. If it lowers costs, it’s a win. If costs go up and lots of people die, we can rightly blame it on the Republicans.

Just kidding. We all know that Obama’s taking the blame for all of this to his grave, regardless of what happens.

Remember when Americans used to call John Birchers “nutcases”?

Instead of “The Freedom Caucus”?

Those were the days…

During a press conference earlier on Wednesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) said that the amendment “helps us get to consensus.” However, it’s not clear that the amendment would earn enough support from moderate members of the Republican caucus to ensure the legislation’s passage.

Not to mention the Senate, where a good deal of the House’s version would basically be DOA.

Trump: You see, I am a dealmaker. I made a deal to get rid of health care of millions of people. And Freedom Caucus listened.

So-called moderates who voted for the earlier bill are already bailing, but now Trump can blame them for his failures. Mission accomplished, so far as PotUS is concerned.

House Freedom Caucus and Tuesday Morning Club put their heads together and figured out how to burn this MF ACA down.
So what will be the job losses?
How many hospitals will go under?
And most of all G-D it all members of Congress should have to purchase their own health insurance from the state they represent. Throw the MFers into the individual market and see how they and their families like it.

will grant states the ability to repeal cost driving aspects of Obamacare left in place under the original AHCA … prepared to support it to keep our promise to the American people to lower healthcare costs

Bogosity warning: what “healthcare costs” are we talking about that Obamacare drove? Or are we just talking, once again, about not actually lowering healthcare costs, but, rather, just talking about lowering insurance premiums by reducing the amount of healthcare they actually provide?

why not, it gives the Freedumb Caucus a chance to kill 20-24 million Americans, mostly older white Americans.

It’s not the FC you need to win Paul, it’s the moderates. Haven’t you ever chosen sides for a game before?

There. FTFY.

I’m going to ask my more learned commenters why do members of Congress get to use the DC exchange when their primary residence is in their home state, that place where they are allowed to vote, who are elected to represent those constituents? And with the number of days working in DC as per the Congressional calendar they spend the majority of their time in their home state?
And yes I know it’s in the PPACA that they have to buy insurance on the exchange but why not their home state’s exchange.

And make them sub contractors. They pay 2x SS tax and get paid only for the time they work. Mileage logs, receipts, etc. Then and only then will they understand what self employed “working” Americans deal with.
